Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 54

Chapter 54

This Giant is a friend to the Dwarves and he grows crops.

He treated an injured Dwarf and became good friends, and was allowed to
come and go in the village. The vegetables that he grows are also popular
among dwarves. He seemed to have fit right in.

He was weak for a Giant, and he prefers to work the land instead of
fighting. A herbivore Giant.

Recently, there’s supposed to be an upcoming huge war and he was also
required to train for it.

Still, he was able to last until the end of the training. It’s just unfortunate
that this time’s graduation exam requires him to hunt down a Wyvern for
practice.

However, he’s very unlike a Giant because of his weak personality. He
wasn’t able to defeat a Wyvern and that leads us to the present situation.

“I’m just not strong. I ended up being a nuisance to the Dwarves”

“And so we’ve decided to pitch in and help! But since he’s a giant, it will
be a lot of work no matter what”

The Dwarf-san (red) said.

If that’s their goal, then indeed they really can’t afford to spare a hand as
the job is gonna be huge because it’s for a giant.

But that’s precisely the problem. Everyone had gathered here to work on it
and they can’t make anything else inside the village. They’ve collectively
decided so.

For now, it seems to be decided that they’re going to make an armor first,
just so that the giant won’t die.

“We’re racking our brains right now because the materials aren’t enough
for this size”

“I see, that’s why you were wandering in search for good materials.
Indeed, this Giant doesn’t seem suited for combat”

“I’ve no shame……”

The Giant lowered his head apologetically, he bowed to the point that he
seems to be reaching for our hands.

No, in the first place, he’s too tall.

But a Giant’s armor huh.

For some reason…… an image of a certain robot flashed through my head.

Well then, a man who could be of help is right here.

That would be me.

“…… so, can I help?”

“What is it, boy? Thought of something good?”

“Yea. I’ve heard quite a bit. As for the materials for that armor…… what
about orichalcum?”

“You bring up Orichalcum so casually”

Dwarf-san (red) revealed some surprise after hearing me mention
Orichalcum.

As expected of legendary metals.

It could even elicit such a response from dwarves.

“Of course I can prepare an appropriate amount”

Even though orichalcum is precious in magic, it’s just another metal for
me. In that department, it’s not much different from a rock.

I could increase it’s amount as much as I want with [Replication Magic].

Of course, I should put it in mind that I could only increase it as much as
needed. There shouldn’t be a problem if it’s just an armor.

However, the Dwarf (green) gave me a suspicious look.

“And? Don’t tell me that it’s going to be free? We can’t give you anything
to exchange for something like orichalcum”

Even if that’s not the case, it does sound fishy.

But I nodded with a wide smile.

“Right? So I have a couple of suggestions, will you let me help with the
armor’s making?”

I thought that a reasonable compensation would probably be necessary
for craftsmen like them to let me handle stuff.

Even so, I still braced myself that they might treat me as some sort of
nuisance, but a Dwarf (green) grabbed my shoulder and closed in. He
grinned and laughed.

“Ain’t that just great? You have that much power, it’s even in the sword’s
magic. Won’t it be interesting if you lend a hand?”

It was unexpectedly easy, and I was a little scared of the Dwarves’ (red,
green) wicked smile.

What is it, what? What’s with this development?

I definitely had a difficult face, fully expecting a stubborn refusal.

This feels rather welcoming……

My image of a dwarf may be slipping, since I’ve just noticed this kind of
danger. I felt my expression grow more and more fearful.

“What, what?”

“What’s wrong, what’s wrong?”

Then I was surrounded by the dwarves that shuffled closer, blocking my
path of escape.

“Hey everyone! Listen up for a bit! This guy suggested something
interesting!”

The Dwarf (green) said in a loud voice.

At this time, I finally understood that this was the Dwarf’s (green) intention
from the beginning, when he brought me here.

These guys, they’re people that will use whatever they can use.

But…… is this not what I want anyway?

I gathered a lot of attention and I was beginning to get nervous. Then i
beat my own chest and said,

“That’s right, you guys! Just leave it to me!”

‘Oooh!’s resounded among the Dwarves.

“Ahh, whatever. It does sound interesting though”

Kawazu-san was also for it and hopped on the bandwagon. Perhaps he
was interested in learning a thing or two about Dwarf magic.

“Um…… what about our weapons?”

Naito-san’s timid mutterings were drowned out by the rowdiness of the
dwarves.

The conversation continued with that upbeat tempo, and the curtain was
opened for the great operation Giant’s Armor.

Basing on the Dwarves gathered data regarding the measurements, the
making of the armor began.

But what will it be? That is the problem.

The problem will no doubt lessen if I leave everything to the Dwarves and
do exactly as they tell me.

However, there are too many people involved this time. It became a
problem that there’s no concensus.

In a situation like this, we usually listen to the input of the the one who’ll
use it and give that priority, but there’s none of that from this weak-willed
giant.

So the white arrows all pointed at me since I provided the materials.

[You’re not confident so you’re asking for me to lend a hand? Can’t be
helped ~♪]

In the end, I had no idea what to do with tha armor, so I decided to
consult on someone I could rely on.

So right now, Tonbo-chan’s pleased face is shown on the screen.

“My, sorry to bother you. So this is about the design, alright?”

I drew an improvisation for the mean time and brought it to the computer
for the dragonfly to see. The dragonfly raised her shoulders in
exhasperation with a ‘how hopeless’. And gave an immediate rejection.

“No, absolutely no good. That’s too sharp! The eyes are too nasty! It’s too
slim that it looks like it’ll break!”

“I-is that so?”

It was a masterpiece that I gave everything to, so I was a little hurt.

But well, it feels like it had taken quite a lot of elements from anime-
inspired robots, so the comments are very good.

“Oh well, what I’m trying to say is: It’s not cute at all!”

However, the dragonfly ruthlessly slashed away from the convincing
reasons.

This had effectively made me raise complaints.

“Eeeh, but the armor doesn’t need to be cute”

[That’s so wrong! Cuteness is important! That’s because only cuteness is
justice! Aren’t armors just a type of clothing? You have to cherish that kind
of humour or your calliber will decline!”

“…… even if you say it like that, I still won’t feel that way”

I give up.

By the way, I think I’ve heard some interesting things about the Warlord’s
Armor.

The helmet really isn’t designed for someone to be able to walk around
with it.

Anyway, would a certain creative flare, meant for standing out, be
something that you’d want in a battlefield?

[Therefore, I suggest something that looks like this!]

She immediately sent a design for me to look at. At first, I wanted to
interrupt and defend myself.

[Hehe…… I know what you wanna say, but hear me out?]

“What?”

[Alright? The good thing about this armor is ……]

I listened to the dragonfly’s speech for a few minutes.

“…… and that’s why the feet will be short but it makes sense!”

……I was completely brainwashed by the dragonfly.

Well I also managed to arrange it a bit.

The Dwarves were listening to me attentively as I speak so confidently in
front of them.

“But are we really going to make this out of Orichalcum? Aren’t you
underestimating that thing’s hardness? Even we would take a lot of time
just to make a plate out of it……”

Even so, it’s reasonable to see some faces that doubts the feasibility of it.

“No no, it would be indeed very difficult if we make it normally but I’ll
handle the rough parts. My magic can transform anything, be it
orichalcum, into any shape”

“””Oooh~”””

“So then we’re going base the shape on this design. You’ll make the
gerenal figure, while we’re going to refine it”

“I’ll completely leave the finer details to you guys. I’ll just do as I’m told,
feel free to correct me if I make a mistake!”

After I presented that with confidence, the Dwarves began to consult
amongst themselves.

“Hmm. Well we won’t know until we try and that’s why it’s interesting,
yea?”

“Hold on, I think there’s some who oppose that this should be the armor’s
design?”

Various opinions were exchange, arguing and deliberating on the pros and
cons.

“Anyway, we have to try or else we can’t start…… why don’t you show us
your magical skills and what you can do with it?”

At the end, everything was up to what I can do with my magic.

But that won’t be a problem.

“My magic is a quite awesome, you see?”

Of course, I was prepared for it.

In front of the Dwarves, I showed them how I could mold the Orichalcum
like it was sugar candy.

It made a stir among the audience.

The conversation flowed more easily after I demonstrated.

It quickly reached a concensus, and it rapidly translated to actions.

The Dwarves drew some blueprints and gave me detailed instructions.

When I mold orichalcum for each individual part, the Dwarves would make
a commotion.

As I knew later on, it should be because orichalcum is a material that isn’t
just hard.

It has excellent magic resistance, so it should be difficult to change with
magic.

But I ignored that resistance and forcefully shape it like clay, leaving it to
process.

It should come as a surprise to dwarves.

Originally, it takes days of hammering just to form the gerenal shape.

Because of that, even with small hands, I was able to process the
orichalcum in moments- like the chest plate. It saves a considerable
amount of time.

It was the Dwarves job after that.

They hammered the resulting orichalcum chunks, refine it, and added to
the armor.

Orichalcum is still a metal.

As pure metal is brittle, it could become stronger through forging.

It could be said that it’s only possible because of dwarves.

Then the ridiculous design that we thought up took form with all the
gathered ideas. They are indeed hard-working and devoted craftsmen.

With that, I cast some magic on the product as a finishing touch.

I left the physical durability to the natural strength of the orichalcum, then
I added Repel Attribute Magic. I used some magic that would make the
interior of the armor comfortable.

It was designed while thinking of the Wyvern’s tendency to release it’s
breath of fire when it feels threatened.
I’ve also put in a little something called playfulness in it.

It took some improvements and experimentations to get the right magic
for the pair of eyes. I took some pride out of the cumulative improvements
that results in its considerable defensive capabilities.

With our sweat and tears, as well as plenty of our mischief, it was
completed after a week.

“Alright! Come out now, it’s showtime!”

The dwarf (red) called out in a loud voice. I built a decorative docking area
during the whole process, and from there, an armored giant emerged.

It’s body of silver was revealed under the sun, there wasn’t a single
distorted area on it’s surface. It was brilliantly polished.

The trunk is big, like a drum. The feet were very short.

On the other hand, the arms were unnaturally long while the head was
quite large.

It was round overall, but the mecha-like design was my hobby made
manifest by the dwarves.

There are several lines here and there, all over the body. However, the
joints themselves are distinctively hidden as much as possible.

The first thing that one will notice would be its unique shape.

There’s a tail that shakes like a snake toy, and huge round ears.

On it’s head, where the eyes should be, large yellow lenses were fitten in.
It occationally blinks with a ‘boun’ sound.

“It’s um…… cute”

Naito-san said that helplessly, as she came to watch the show. In contrast,
everyone else were incredibly pleased as we finally finished that gallant
figure.

“Brothers, it’s finally done!”

“And it’s all thanks to this dude! It was an interesting project!”

“Ah, you made something nice!”

Kawazu-san also tearfully looked up at the completed armor.

[Meow~!]

“It let out a cry!”

Naito-san was incredibly surprised, as expected, but that’s just the way it
is.

It was great to wear it for the Giant that has a height of five meters when
he stands.

I’ll just make it clear that the figure is a completely deformed tiger. (T/N:
‘deform’ was in English. It doesn’t have a negative connotation but making
an animal or whatever look “cute” is generally termed as ‘deformed’)

From now on, it will fight Wyverns which resembled dragons so the design
has to be a tiger.

It’s more of a costume than an armor, and it’s made to look like a round
and cute tiger.

While we’re at it, the stripes are programmed to appear when the owner
wears the armor.

This is a robotic tiger-model total defense armor……

“Toramaru 01!” (T/N: Tora = tiger; maru = usually found in names)

[Meow!]

It blinked its huge yellow eyes, and the cheers in the village heightened.

Just according to our rehearsals.

Let’s send an ale from me to the giant.

Toramaru 01 raised both of its arms with some metalic sounds, making
some noise in honor of it’s birth.

“…… it ‘meow’-ed right? Isn’t this a cat?”

Naito-san voiced her impression of it, but for now, it’s unmistakable that
this is the best seat to watch the show.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 53

Chapter 53

No, calm down.

In this situation, the important part isn’t the small old man.

It’s the ‘same’.

The face and body of the Dwarf look exactly the same small old man. We
had just went our seperate ways, but he’s looking at us as if we’re the
suspicious ones.

“……”

Wait wait, it’s different now that I look closely.

I’ll inspect the old man once again.

That Dwarf from earlier was wearing a red hat, this one is wearing a green
hat.

I silently gestured at Kawazu-san with my eyes, but he doesn’t seem to
understand so he just shook his head.

So I commenced an emergency meeting with a hushed voice.

“…… is he the same one from earlier? Twin brother? He didn’t say anything
of the sort, right?” (T)

“I wonder? This is also the first time I’ve seen Dwarves” (K)

“I don’t think he’s pulling some sort of prank…… ” (N)

“…… what do you guys think you’re doing, coming into my house and
whispering by yourselves?”

I immediately straightened up after being scolded by an irritated voice. For
now, let’s proceed with the conversation as if it’s a different person.

“Sorry, excuse us. We actually came to deliver this to you”

“A delivery?”

Now that I think about it, there’re no other clues besides the guidance
earlier as to who the letter would be sent to. I have no choice but to show
the reciepient.

A gave the letter that the boss entrusted me, the Dwarf (green) saw it, and
exclaimed in a loud voice.

“Oh, oh! I remember him! …… this is the kid I looked after when I was
travelling outside, how many years has it been! So he’s still alive”

The Dwarf (green) said that in delight, he seems to be incredibly happy.

The bond of a student and master is indeed a profound thing.

It was the right decision for the boss to write that letter.

“Um yes. He’s currently working as a blacksmith in a human village”

“Hohou! That little kid…… I wonder if he’s become better at hammering?”

“A, that’s…… ”

Speaking of, the only sword that I carry around was the boss’ work.

I could show it to him if he’s interested. I took out my beloved sword from
the magic pouch and presented it to the old Dwarf (green). For some
reason, the Dwarf (green) had a look of trepidation, and was uneased by
the sword.

“……you don’t have to be that wary of it”

I’m kinda hurt that he looked like he’s asked to touch some filth. The Dwarf
(green) had a troubled and helpless face.

“Isn’t this enchanted with something nasty? However…… I could feel a
frightening magical power from this sword, what’s going in? Is this really
something that he made?”

Now that he mentions it, I did a lot of things to the sword. I hastily
explained.

“Well I was the one that added those, he just gave the sword to me.
Someone thought it was interesting and tried a lot of things with it, so it’s
okay to touch it”

“…… you’re quite reckless, aren’t you”

The Dwarf (green) was still fearful, but he was a little relieved after
confirming who applied the magic and that may be why he took the sword
sword from my hand and brandished it with some familiarity.

Once the glossy shine of the blade was exposed, his cheeks became less
tense.

“Ah, this one…… rough as usual, but he’s definitely devoted himself to it.
A, excuse me. I’m done”

Dwarf-san (green) placed the sword back into it’s sheath and returned it to
me.

This time, he sighed and looked at me.

“…… and so? What have you come here for? The letter said something
about wanting a weapon”

“Ah, yes of course. But first, I’d like to give this to you!”

Once again, I stuck my hand into the magic pouch, and took out a PC this
time.

Naito-san made a sound of surprise. Still, I have to establish a form of
communication first.

We may need to have a lot of things made from now on…… and it would
be incovenient if we need some callibration for weapons.

“Hm? A weird box, what’s that?”

Based on my experience, they usually have a strange face after seeing it.
Contrary to my expectations however, it’s well-received this time.

The Dwarf (green) didn’t seem to fully understand what I just took out, but
he showed some interest because it looked elaborate.

He he, so this is the curiousity of a craftsman…… then it will be decided in
one go!

“This is a machine that lets you have a good talk with someone from far
away~”

“Ooh. That might be convenient. So you want me to give you a weapon in
exchange for this?”

Dwarf-san (green) asked cautiously. Please, I want you to think of those
two issues separately.

“No no. This thing is only useful if a lot of people are using it.
Rather, I would help you with something in exchange for you accepting it.
It would be great if everyone would use it. Here, a manual”

“A manual…… this seems troublesome. But I’m sorry.
I don’t have any spare time right now, you should just bring that home
with you”

“Why!?”

Even though he was taking it so well, it resulted in an unexpected answer.

Dwarf-san (green) looked a little apologetic as he scratched his head and
his face looked sober.

“There’s a project in the village where everyone’s gonna help in making a
Giant’s equipment. He has a big stature so it can’t be helped that it will
take a lot of time…… ”

“Giants exists!”

My ears heard the words of a very interesting plan, and I unconciously
leaned in.

So this is the interesting thing that the village is working on!

Of course this would be crazy.

Cause it’s a Giant, you know?

There’s no way I’d be calm.

People find gigantic things as a kind of Romance.

I guarantee that the Romance index would rise considerably just by
attaching it to the concept of making it gigantic.

Giant robot, giant insect, giant building……

And a Giant is gigantic, just look at the name.

At that time however, I didn’t notice Dwarf-san’s (green) eyes glint while
looking at me in that state.

“Oh? You don’t know about Giants?”

“…… huge?”

“Well they ARE Giants…… ”

“I wanna see!”

Seeing me heavily breathing, Dwarf-san (green) grinned and laughed. He
looked like he’s seeing something novel.

“You do? Such a strange guy. So why don’t you come along then? I’ll take
you there since you brought something interesting”

“Really!?”

“Yea, I don’t mind. He just arrived in the village as well”

“Seriously!?”

The conversation continued with a good rhythm.

OH! My heart was beating wildly and I can’t suppress my excitement
because I could immediately meet with this Giant, but then I noticed the
existence of the two behind me.

To put it in words, the both of them look like they’re about to face
something troublesome.

“A giant? That’s quite difficult to deal with……” (N)

“That’s right, you’re always interested in strange things” (K)

The pair’s reaction seem to be quite negative.

“What, but it’s a Giant, you see? They’re huge, you know? What do you
mean by difficult?”

I became a little uneasy and Naito -san firmly nodded at me.

“Yes. Firstly, they are dangerous. Giants are violent, and they’re famous for
being fond of wars”

“…… seriously?”

Getting told something like that feels like I just got handed some crap.

It’s fine if I’m just dealing with power, but I don’t want to be threatened.

I’ve always shrank away from people who are too aggressive.

“I don’t think you have to worry about that”

The Dwarf (green) smiled bitterly when he saw Naito-san’s guarded state.
They don’t know why not, so Kawazu-san and Naito-san tilted their heads.
Now what could be the reason?

He was troubled by the reaction.

Since it’s come to this, we can’t pass judgement since we haven’t seen him
yet. With that thought in mind, I left the computer as is, and went to see
the giant.

The Giant was indeed in the middle of the village square.

He’s just…… definitely a little different compared to the image that I’ve
formed in my head.

No, he’s big in terms of size but there’s a difference in terms of character.

“I’m so sorry…… I’ve taken up quite a bit of your time……”

“It’s fine, I say! Don’t worry about it! We already said we’re going to make
your armor!”

As for me, there was absolutely no problem with that.

It’s wonderful thing when it’s safe.

However, there were more interesting things in the square that we were
taken to. Sure, it looks like they were scolding the weak-looking giant.

They were…… small old men, a lot of them.

“Amazing. We weren’t being pranked after all”

I’m sorry for being suspicious, but now we’re watching and admiring the
sight of multi-colored old men with identical faces, surrounding the Giant
and bustling around.

Seeing that the faces were the same, even Kawazu-san’s eyes turned
round.

“Having the same face to this extent, it’s a bit disturbing” (K)

“Ah, Kawazu-san himself said it…… ” (T)

“……what is it? Won’t it be charming if I multiplied?”

“Stop it, I’ll turn green…… ”

“What kind of illness is that?”

By the way, do Dwarves have some sort of fixation when it comes to hats?

…… they probably do.

Each one has a slightly different-colored hat, each color is solely for one
person.

Maybe they use colors to distinguish between individuals. At least, that’s
the only way we can distinguish them.

“I’m sorryyy. I want to thank you, I’m really grateful”

While his head was being poked by Dwarves, the happy-looking Giant-san
doesn’t live up to his reputation at all.

“…… violent and loves to fight?”

“…… supposedly”

Beside me, Naito-san who was standing alert and guarded was also
underwhelmed by the weak-looking Giant.

T/N: I find it a bit sad that Kawazu-san lived for 500 years without getting
in touch with the fairy folk, like dwarves, etc. Like finally, he’s really on an
adventure now, not just building an empire.

Also, imagine Dwarves having various personalities but they’re always
mistaken as the same individual when they go outside. THAT would
undoubtedly give the impression of being “eccentric”

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 52

Chapter 52

“My goodness! You guys really helped me out there. I thought I was going to die when the Wyvern found me!”

The one who said that was the shorty that was leading us, in truth, he was actually a small old man.

He wore a red hat on top of his small but wide stature. One can see that it’s a pretty sturdy body.

When we shook hands, the skin on it was very thick.

I thought this could be it, and I was right.

“Who would’ve thought that we could encounter a dwarf this easily”

Kawazu-san was also a little surprised, but the dwarf embarassedly laughed and told us,

“Ahahahaha…… I became quite absorbed while looking for ores. There are a lot of our mining sites around here. But aren’t you guys really quite lucky to have run into me? Otherwise, you’d have to search around this rocky mountain for at least a few days!”

The dwarf man laughed heartily.

He may have said it lightly, but it was indeed incredibly troublesome.

I really wanted a break.

Had it come to that, I would’ve definitely used some magic.

However, I’m currently grateful for this good luck.

The place that we’re currently traversing isn’t on the surface of the mountain, it was inside a strange tunnel.

We were brought into this tunnel with his guidance. It was big enough for a few people to easily pass through, even though it was underground.

It was also subtly glowing even though I can’t see a source of light. One really doesn’t need to worry about the lighting.

If we’re right about this path, it could immediately lead to the Dwarf Village. It’s really much preferable to take shorcuts like this instead of walking along the mountain.

“What’s this glowing stuff?”

“Hm? Is this your first time seeing it?”

I was looking at something that looked like a plant, and the dwarf guy snapped a piece and showed it to me.

“This is called light moss. We sprinkle the spores when we dig out tunnels, It’s a convenient moss that glows in the dark, they easily take root”

“Digging…… this tunnel, Dwarves dug all of these!?”

I was surprised and did a double take, looking around the tunnel.

To make it in a scale that’s similar to the ones found in villages, as expected of Dwarves.

This isn’t just blacksmithing, it’s civil engineering and construction is very surprising.

The Dwarf didn’t deny it either, he laughed meaningfully.

“There ain’t anyone better than dwarves at handling stones. This tunnel here extends through the whole underground of these parts. The mining site is also underground, you can go anywhere here”

“Wow…… but since you have this tunnel, why were you out earlier?”

Saying that, the Dwarf’s actions were suspicious, but the person himself was self-concious and became talkative.

“Ha ha ha…… well that is, I thought of finding some strange materials. Right now, we have an interesting project in the village…… wait a bit, we’re almost at the exit”

The Dwarf suddenly cut off the conversation, and went near the wall in front of us.

He grasped a potrusion in the rocks, and seemed to push it hard.

We quietly looked on, and there was a quick transformation.

There was a brief vibration, then the wall in front of us split in two.

The light spilled in and the path was opened. It was our destination.

“Welcome to our Dwarven Village. Take your time, alright?”

The Dwarf man proudly announced and invited us into the village.

With the aid of the Dwarf we helped, we’ve arrived at the Dwarf Village.

The sounds of clanging and the sounds of trading resonates, it was a very lively place.

It looked like a pioneering village at first glance, but it gives you a somewhat adorable impression of it. That’s because the houses that were built were small.

With the short structures and the houses made of bricks, it really looked like a fancy diorama.

“This here village is protected by the rocky mountains. Some people from the outside occasionally come here seeking for weapons, but most of them don’t reach here. They could be attacked by Wyverns, or simply give up due to the harsh roads; either way, there’s rarely anyone who can easily come here”

“Oh? Then did you settle here in order to avoid dealing with them?”

Kawazu-san asked while looking around at the rare sight. The Dwarf laughed heartily.

“Hahaha! You can also say that. The biggest reason would be the availability of good rocks. But it’s not just that. Our weapons are quite impressive. Won’t it be very troublesome if we just make them on request? Besides, we have all the rights to choose who to give them to”

“Hmm, that implies you also screen those that get to use your weapons.
Hmhm, that’s quite reasonable.
It’s certainly not amusing to see your work used by someone incompetent”

“That’s right, this guy gets it!”

Kawazu-san was laughing with a mean expression, and the Dwarf also laughed in the same manner. They seemed to get along.

We walked around the village for a while, but I noticed something strange.

We’ve already entered the village but we haven’t encountered any of the villagers.

…… no, there’s the presence of people.

But none of them are on the road.

The Dwarf man also looked restless, it seemed like he wasn’t kidding when he said that they have a project within the village.

He led us to a slightly larger building, and the Dwarf immediately bowed his head to us.

“Well then, this is the lodging! I’ll be going now, alright? If you guys want some weapons, we’re a bit busy right now, so I’d be happy if you could wait. Especially you, scary guy!”

From what he said, it seems like he brought us here with proper understanding about me.

If so, the Dwarves are justifiably courageous people.

I hastily called out to stop him when he was rushing away.

“Please wait a moment! This is the last one! Do you know about this person?”

I took out the letter that the boss sent, and showed it. The dwarf looked at the address and nodded a few times.

“Ah, do you guys know him? Then it’s that house”

He easily gave away the place where the house is, and immediately rushed within the village.

“…… that was, a bit of a rowdy Dwarf, wasn’t he?”

Naito-san murmurmed unexpectedly. However, I prefer that he was talkative instead of the eccentric that they’re so famously labelled as.

“Well, it seems like he’ll make a you a proper weapon when he could, so isn’t it great, Naito-san?”

“Yes, that’s right. It certainly makes one to have expectations”

Naito-san seemed happy after saying that.

That Dwarf should also be aware of Naito-san’s skills, and he can’t just dismiss the request of the one who saved his life.

“What was it that the dwarf was talking about, what kind of thing are they building?”(K)

“Beats me…… I wonder how this’ll all turn out”

Even though Kawazu-san said that, that’s our main concern, since we can’t do anything if it concerns the other party’s convenience.

But you’ll never know what’ll happen after this.

We’ll see after waiting a bit.

“Right…… Kuma is also looking forward to this, so I can’t make him wait for long”

Naito-san seemed worried, but it can’t be helped.

Following the directions, we gave a house a visit.

It was made of bricks like the other surrounding houses, but it had a green roof.

We knocked on the door and immediately got an answer.

“Come in! It’s open!”

“Excuse us……”

We came in once we received the invitation.

However, in the next moment, I was stuck at the door’s entrance.

Kawazu-san bumped into my back, and Naito-san looked over my shoulder to see what’s up inside the house.

“What the…… quite a scary human has come”

Inside the open door was the same small old man.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 51

Chapter 51

“What’s with this mountain, a harassment……?”

“Please do your best, we still have a long way to go”

“Come on now, stand firm”

As always, Kawazu-san’s teasing voice is annoying.

We’re currently in the middle of climbing.

It’s a mountain road that offers nothing but the view of the mountain, and
we’ve been walking steadily for half a day now.

The only reason why I haven’t done something like Teleport is because this
mountain is complex.

If one doesn’t do it well, there’s a chance that there will be a head-on
collision with the rocks, so continuous teleportation is risky.

No…… there should be a magic that will allow long-distance travel.

However.

[And that’s precisely the reason why you don’t have any physical
endurance (sigh)]

……withdrawing after being told something like that would be like an
emasculation for a man.

That’s why I’m braving the mountain path like this, as the slope of the
mountain becomes more treacherous the further you go.

However, it can already be said that I’m different from a common modern
person who lacks exercise

Ever since I came here, I’ve been travelling here and there.

I’ve also been secretely doing some push-ups and they’re showing some
results. My abdominal muscles that could be seen from the baths have
become a little defined lately.

I can keep up with everyone right now, isn’t that quite something?

I could also keep going a little farther……

“We’re finally a quarter of the way there. The roads would be much more
difficult from here onwards so be careful-…… is something wrong?”

Noob mistake, please go easy on me.

“No, nothing…… ”

I can’t say it, no matter how desperately I’m trying, trying to take another
step.

Naito-san was leading while holding the map with one hand, still wearing
a complete fullplate armor sans the helmet. Just how come she’s not even
having a hard time breathing?

Kawazu-san was using his froggy body and he’s humming a cheerful song.

I was following behind them like a toddler.

This journey’s representatives are the three of us.

Additionally, the dragonfly and Kumaemon are house-sitting.

Regarding Kumaemon, he’s also in need of a new weapon and it would
have been better if he went with us, but someone had to take over our
duties in the forest. He discussed with Naito-san and decided to stay.

The dragonfly…… would probably just be troublesome today.

‘Once you’re there, tell me if something interesting comes up’, it’s still
fresh in my memories how she sent us out while munching on a cookie.

“We’ll soon be near some Wyvern nests. There’s no way to know what will
happen, so please take caution”

It’s not the time to complain as Naito-san briefed us about what to expect
once we neared some places.

But well, something like that isn’t really a problem for me.

“Ah, those parts will probably be alright. I’m quite disliked by beasts, you
see”

“What kind of reasoning is that. ……somehow I kind of understand”

Naito-san showed an immediate understanding.

What does it imply when something like this has become easy to
understand?

There’s some necessity for me to deliberate this.

“By the way, aren’t Wyverns creatures that kinda resemble Dragons? Are
they related to Suke-san and the others?”

“No, Wyverns aren’t dragons, they’re categorized as demonic beasts. Better
remember that because Dragons will try to kill you when you say
something like that to them”

The easygoing Kawazu-san was the one who answered my easy question.

Hmm, it seems like there are clans that you can’t lump together.

It really is for the best to remember it because I don’t want to
unintentionally antagonize either of them.

“Got it…… however, just how many dangers are there in this mountain?
It’s almost like a theme park, like the ones you can pay for back in my
world”

I tried to lightly pass off my anxiety about the future by being talkative, but
Kawazu-san snorted a laugh.

“I wonder? Isn’t it useless to think about that? Rather, it’s your physical
endurance that’s a cause for concern”

“I said…… I’m fine. I can just recover as much as I want with magic…… ah”

Kawazu-san looked incredibly pleased when I unintentionally let that slip,
he laughed as he gathered his hands behind him.

Damn, I said something unnecessary.

It seemed that his previous remark was meant as a bait.

“Hoho. You’re just good at relying one magic! Well it can’t be helped,
what, just use it however you like, right? I’m not using it though! Youth
isn’t that impressive after all”

“Guh……. hmph! I didn’t mean it like that! That was just a figure of speech
just now! There’s no need to use magic, this is just sightseeing!
Sightseeing! Rather, shouldn’t Kawazu-san worry that your skin might dry
up?”

“Hmph! My moist body will always velvety damp!”

My useless, stake-less conversation with Kawazu-san should have reached
Naito-san, but she still didn’t break her prim expression and seriously said,

“…… I understand that you’re not worried. However, I can’t be like that. At
least, I don’t know what to expect in these mountains”

“Ah, I can deal with almost anything. Leave it to me, even if it’s a natural
disaster”

“A natural disaster?…… No, the weather should be fine for a while”

“……you were supposed to tsukkomi*, Naito-san” (T/N: see previous
chapters)

“R-really? I’m sorry”

You really don’t have to apologize, you know?

It’s a problem how Naito-san’s reactions are never wrong, considering that
it’s not really a joke.

We proceeded forward while in that condition until we could finally see
the first landmark.

I looked around with eyes like a kindergartener’s that went to the zoo for a
field trip.

There were a lot of green-winged reptiles on the huge rocks.

However, the dragons that I’ve seen are really much more intelligent,
resemblings humans a lot. Wyverns are really beast-like.

It like walking in a Safari Park, this uncomfortable atmosphere is really
different from dragons.

They don’t try to approach us at all, in fact, they were fleeing as fast as
possible.

I really scare them off after all. What lies ahead gives me a feeling of
loneliness instead of a feeling of crisis.

“They don’t have to be that terrified……”

“……this is actually quite a strange sight to witness. They’re famous for
being ferocious demon beasts”

Naito-san was watching said ferocious demon beasts that were obviously
frightened, she had the secure air of a spectator.

And with that, there’s no problem to pass by the frightened Wyverns’ nest.

It was then that it occurred, in a place just over the nests.

From somewhere, we clearly heard a scream that’s different from an
animal’s.

“Waaaah! Please help meeee!”

Since it was a voice calling for help, there’s no way we can just ignore it.

“What is this about?”

“Hmm, is it a human?”

The three of us looked at each other, then a large Wyvern appeared from
the front, and I could spot a small shadow being chased, running away
with all it’s might.

“It seems like someone’s being chased…… I’ll go”

Naito-san made her move before I could say something.

The Wyvern was chasing someone that’s half of my height, and it looked
like a child at first glance.

The Wyvern was engrossed with the prey right before its eyes so it didn’t
seem like it noticed us.

Naito-san quickly jumped away, passing the shorty that was being chased.

She sent a kick right between the Wyvern’s brows before it could even
refocus itself.

It’s really huge compared to me, so I prepared my magic in case Naito-san
gets blown away.

However……

“Gruaaaaa!!”

It was the Wyvern that was blown away and crashed.

It wasn’t enough to exhaust the force from Naito-san, so it bounced
exaggeratedly on the ground, like a rubber ball.

In the end, it foamed in the mouth and fled to the sky. You can see just
how much panic it was in.

Well, anyone would be like that if they received such a ridiculous kick out
of nowhere.

I actually felt like praising it for surviving that.

“Phew. Are you alright?”

“Y-yes……”

And acting as if nothing happened, Naito-san proceeded to help the
shorty. As for me, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing so I rubbed my eyes.

Is it…… really normal for warriors to kick away a Wyvern with nothing but
sheer strength?

I thought her movements were a little more conventional compared to
Sailor Soldier but……

When it comes to power, Naito-san is really built differently.

“Hey, Kawazu-san…… I thought that Naito-san was strong when she fought
Sailor Soldier, but isn’t she overly strong?”

I thought I was prepared for changes in rewriting my common sense, but
that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Because Kawazu-san didn’t look like he was opening his mouth
dumbfounded.

“Indeed…… this is also the first time I saw someone send those things
flying with a kick”

“I see……”

Why is it that apparently, being common isn’t something that happens?

Naito-san brought the person that she rescued over to the dazed us.

“Is something wrong? A, right. Since we’re here, why don’t we bring that
Wyvern from before as a souvenir? I heard that they’re very tasty”

I opened my mouth and declined, ‘no thanks’, to the absurdly wild Naito-
san.

“Uh…… we still have a long journey ahead, why don’t we just let it go?
Yea”

“Are you sure? But I suppose that’s true”

I secretly stole a glance at Naito-san, and patted my own abs.

The fact that my abs were finally getting some definition…… I think that I’ll
keep that to myself.

T/N (rambling): I think one of the reason’s why Tarou is improving so slowly on his
physical aspect is because he messed up his own biology. Muscles need to
be damaged in order to grow, but we all know that Tarou will heal them
instead of enduring the following day’s pain. Unless he heals it in a specific
way that it’s developing instead of regenerating… but there’s huge chance
that he’s reverting them back to their original state hahaha.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Well then, does everyone remember?

Back when we went to the Elf Village, Naito-san and Kumaemon fought a
fierce battle against Sailor Soldier.

That really doesn’t matter anymore, everyone’s alright now.

But there was something that wasn’t alright.

For example, something important that it could be said that it’s the soul
of a swordsman, was damaged at that time.

While looking at her sword that was sliced in half, Naito-san herself said,

“No, this was a result from my own inadequacies. I still have another,
there’s no problem at all……”

Even if she said that, she still had this disappointed atmosphere.

Even Kumaemon was rolling the circle part of his broken morningstar,
there was a certain sorrow to it.

“…… yup, weapons are certainly important”

Looking at these two, feelings of guilt bubbled up as the cause had
something to do with me after all.

I have to move fast and contact Suke-san if they have have any good
weapons.

No, even weapons have their own sentimental value.

Should we repair them or should we go with a totally different approach?

After all, those weapons can’t even win over our fence.

Besides, weapons that suit the user could be enchanted by me and
Kawazu-san, and we could definitely make something interesting with
them.

It’s just that I’m totally out of my depth when it comes to the topic of
weapons, so I should ask the specialist that I’m familiar with.

I went back to the first village that I visited, the place with the inkeeper
and her husband.

I had them install a computer, but when I showed the pair’s weapons, the
boss’ eyes turned round.

“The morningstar aside……, this sword is quite unreasonable……”

“Ah, as I thought”

I won’t be able to lift that sword up unless I change it’s weight with magic.

I could understand how it’s unreasonable.

But I think the boss who’s inspecting the sword is also quite awesome, as
he’s lifting it up so easily.

He’s using Body Strengthening with it, I bet. Otherwise, I’ll cry.

The boss carefully examined the weapon and said the results.

“I think I can fix it, but with just this lump of iron, it’s durability will
inevitably decline. Just who thought of using this weapon anyway?”

The boss was talking to the computer that I brought.

Then after that, Naito-san’s voice could be heard from the computer.

“I used Body Strengthening Magic with it, as it seems to be quite sturdy.
Normal steel swords would usually break easily. Recently, I couldn’t handle
a sword properly unless it’s at least that sturdy”

However, the boss was incredibly surprised about the voice that he heard.

“Oh! This thing is really interesting! You can really talk to someone who’s
far away! But anyway, I see…… if you’ve trained to that point, you should
be quite strong. I couldn’t say that to anyone from around here, you see?”

He’s talking to the computer at this time, but for now, one should take it
into consideration that humans might be afraid of dark elves.

From the boss’ personality, I think that Naito-san thought too much into it,
as the computer is currently not showing a face, being just on call mode.

But it can still be done like this.

If there’s an opportunity, you should take it with a optimistically.

“If we have to make it stronger, it becomes a problem of materials. We
can’t just bulk it up with steel, can we?”

“I see……”

While the boss and Naito-san were groaning and sighing about some big
problem, I remembered something incredibly, a metal that’s way better
than steel.

“Speaking of materials, how about Orichalcum?”

When I told him about that, the boss nodded with a difficult face.

“Yes yes, it can’t be anything but a magical metal. But first, we don’t have
something like that. I really can’t do anything but make the sword even
thicker……”

“No, if it’s Orichalcum, then I have it”

I immediately took out some metals samples from my magic pouch and
arranged them. The boss was stupefied, and for a while, he just examined
the samples, but he sighed and went back to sit on a chair.

“……hm, sorry but I can’t. I just don’t have enough skill to handle this”

He scratched his head, looking a little awkward.

According to the boss, magical metals are too hard and they require
special skills to be forged.

I see, as expected from a legendary metal, even handling it is difficult.

“Can’t I just form it into a sword with magic?”

I don’t think that it would be that difficult if I can just shape it, but the
boss crossed his arms and wrinkled his brows towards me.

“Hm, you can even do something like that? But…… I wonder. Although I
can’t do even that, it’s not just a matter of forming a shape. For example, if
we’re forging steel, we don’t just consider the form it will take.
Aside from the difficult parts, just hammering it requires a craftsman’s
intuition. You don’t have that, do you?
We’re dealing with orichalcum, so of course you can still make something
by just shaping it”

“……that’s true, but I don’t want to make something so half-baked”

I think the boss frankly laying out the ugly parts is for the best.

It would be a waste unless it becomes a proper sword, it’s the rare
orichalcum after all.

It’s natural to want to make a properly functioning weapon even without
the use of magic.

It’s not like I can’t understand what the boss said about craftsman
intuition.

Back then, I also watched the TV and saw a place where they make
Japanese swords.

Simply creating the shape doesn’t make it a strong steel. Craftsmen extract
impurities, as well as control the carbon content, then they temper the
sword.

It just that but I can’t do something like that, nobody will be delighted
with a mass-produced imitation sword.

However, the words that the boss spoke next managed to ignite my
interest.

“I know someone who could do it though……”

“Really!?”

As soon as I took the bait, the boss expression became incredibly
complicated, seeming like he feels guilty for not fulfilling an order, but he
told us this,

“That’s right…… if anyone could make it, it would be a Dwarf but, well……
there’s a catch”

“A Dwarf!?”

The next one who was caught was Naito-san, who was more interested in
the boss’ story than I would have thought.

“What’s wrong, Naito-san?”

I’m surprised about the uncharacteristic tension coming from her, but
Naito-san shyly calmed down.

“N-no, speaking of Dwarves’ weapons, they’re quite renowned. Having a
Dwarven weapon is like a status symbol for warriors. But it’s also a tribe
famous for their eccentricity, since they’ll never give you a weapon if they
don’t like you……”

Naito-san’s level of excitement was quite considerable since she was
unconciously talkative, it’s obvious to see her longing for it.

……doesn’t this mean we have to do it?

I don’t know just how extraordinary it is, but when I think about Dwarves,
I’ve heard that they’re some sort of underground fairies.

Just a little more information from boss’ mouth would be good.

If there’s more Queens and Serenades around, then my impression might
change a bit.

“Then, would it be alright if you introduce us?”

I lowered my head, and the boss slightly frowned but agreed.

“Okay…… if it’s just introducing you. Although that person is my master,
and he’s usually a cranky one. I can’t guarantee that he’ll agree, okay?”

I nodded at the boss concerns.

“Well in that case, we’ll think about it when the time comes”

“You’re right…… anyway, it’s been a while so should I also write a letter for
my master?”

“If that’s so, I’ll try to leave him with a computer too. If he knows the
number of this computer, you’ll be able to talk anytime”

I suggested with good intentions, but boss gave a bitter laugh.

“……I’ll pass on that. I’ll just get yelled at everyday”

He said that while looking very uncomfortable.
