Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Now that the show’s over and we still have a lot of things on our schedule,
we decided to move our venue.

The place we relocated on was just a rocky area that’s considerably far
from the village.

However, it already has the finishing touches which I’ve set-up beforehand.

As for me, I’m currently in a hut made of rock together with Naito-san.
There was nothing to do and Naito-san was restless beside me.

“What do you plan to do here?”

“Well, well, Naito-san’s turn is almost here. Here, a sunglass”

“? No thanks, I’m not really bothered or anything……”

Naito-san was suspiciously eyeing the sunglasses that I was handing her.
It’s dangerous without it and I’d be bothered if she doesn’t take it.

It seems like the final preparations are done, as I could see Kawazu-san
and Dwarf-san (green) coming back over here.

I raised my hand at the two of them, giving a little signal.

If you’re wondering what were they doing, it was setting a goal.

There’s a hug log sticking out in the middle of the rocky terrain, and there,
the previously showcased Toramaru 01 was firmly fixed with metal chains.

[Meeooww!!!]

There were some creaking sounds as Toramaru 01 was desperately
struggling, as he should be.

“Hey, we’re ready” (green)

“Yup, shall we start” (K)

“Yeah” (T)

I nodded.

Confirming that everyone’s equipped with sunglasses, we commenced the
experiment.

“Well then, we had a preliminary demo earlier, so I think we should test it
against magic for a bit!”

That’s right. Even though we did some tests on it, it would be meaningless
if it can’t actually stop attacks when you wear it.

Today’s the day that the I’ll have the giant experience it’s prowess with his
own body.

“If I may be too forward, I shall serve as the attacker!”

I promptly lowered my head, having some appropriate applause in the
background.

Dwarf-san (green) had a complex expression, seemingly uneasy even
though he joined in on the clapping.

“Would it really be okay? For these past few days, I suffered and bore
witness to your ridiculousness and all……”

“It’s okay, I tell you. Our Toramaru 01 will definitely survive without a
scratch. Didn’t you hear the giant’s voice that said [I’ll definitely live and
return!]?”

Dwarf-san (green) silently moved his eyes from me to the giant.

At that time, the giant had given up on breaking the chain. In his
desperation, he targetted the log by digging through the ground.

“…… I really don’t get that impression” (D)

“Hm, not even that. My calculations are insane!” (K)

“……why is that? Listening to you two, I feel like you’re saying that it’s
already no good?” (T)

Dwarf-san (green) hummed but there shouldn’t be any problem. That’s
because the experiment is performed with extreme caution.

More importantly, if I don’t do anything soon, the target will escape. I
immediately cut off the conversation and started casting magic.

I lit up a small fireball in my right hand, it burned like a candle’s flame.

Looking at it, Dwarf-san (green) had a relieved expression.

“So even you know how to hold back”

“Of course. Here I go, alright? Absolutely do not take off those glasses,
yea? It would be bad for you to look directly”

“Hm? What’s that?”

Whethere or not because I heard the Dwarf’s (green) answer, as he doesn’t
fully understand my meaning, it was the right timing to release my fireball.

The flame flew from the palm of my hand, slowly and surely making it’s
way to the target.

At first glance, it was such a fragile flame that looks like it might disappear
at any moment – but that’s not the case.

At the instant that it made contact with Toramaru 01…… it swelled up in a
burst.

“Wa……?”

I didn’t know who it was that muttered that among us.

Said ‘ghu-‘ or something, just that the sound was uneasy and hopeless. At
that moment, a flash was released from that small flame.

The color transformed beyond reds and blues, then it became white.

The air swelled, and the impact even reached the barrier on our side.
Cracks appeared in the surrounding rocks due to the dramatic difference in
temperature.

It was a few seconds later when waves of heat passed by.

My barrier worked normally and there wasn’t a scratch on our hut.

I checked everyone out, just to make sure. Dwarf-san (green) looked like he
wanted to say something but no voice would come out.

However, he finally found the right words and muttered,

“…… you held back?”

“I already said I did. I contracted it as much as I could to minimize the
damage. I think my magicla skills have become quite something”

“…… I don’t think that’s the problem”

Naito-san had also turned blue, but the magical power I’ve used this time
is around 1000.

It’s about 1 Kawazu-unit.

When I said that, Kawazu-san was the only one besides me that wasn’t
surprised. I’ll leave it at that for now.

I went out of the hut in order to examine the result of the experiment.

Outside, the fireball became a continuously burning fire pillar, it was like a
scene from hell.

The globe of light had completely disappeared into the ground, turning
into lava. It had made shards of glass around the area.

I scanned my eyes around, but the air was distorted by the heat and
resulted in poor visibility.

It seems like it would take some time to properly check things out.

“H-h-h-heyhey, hey. Won’t this definitely kill him!?”

Dwarf-san’s (green) conciousness finally came back to him at this time, and
he anxiously ran to me. The surrounding are still hot so it was dangerous.

When he arrived at my side, I gave him a big nod to reassure him that
everything’s all right.

“It’s fine. I tried this with double the power when I was experimenting on
it”

“And it was alright then?”

“…… kinda”

Kawazu-san muttered a little when he was put on shelf (T/N: I’m assuming
this has something to do with him being used a unit of measurement).
Looking at it, Toramaru 01 would have certainly been called to the
heavens with the flames.

It was something else during the experiments so I just reduced it to half-
power, but it wasn’t enough.

Even now, there’s no sign of movement……

“……I wonder if this is alright?” (T)

“It would be over if you say something like that……” (K)

It would certainly be an interesting story.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 54

Chapter 54

This Giant is a friend to the Dwarves and he grows crops.

He treated an injured Dwarf and became good friends, and was allowed to
come and go in the village. The vegetables that he grows are also popular
among dwarves. He seemed to have fit right in.

He was weak for a Giant, and he prefers to work the land instead of
fighting. A herbivore Giant.

Recently, there’s supposed to be an upcoming huge war and he was also
required to train for it.

Still, he was able to last until the end of the training. It’s just unfortunate
that this time’s graduation exam requires him to hunt down a Wyvern for
practice.

However, he’s very unlike a Giant because of his weak personality. He
wasn’t able to defeat a Wyvern and that leads us to the present situation.

“I’m just not strong. I ended up being a nuisance to the Dwarves”

“And so we’ve decided to pitch in and help! But since he’s a giant, it will
be a lot of work no matter what”

The Dwarf-san (red) said.

If that’s their goal, then indeed they really can’t afford to spare a hand as
the job is gonna be huge because it’s for a giant.

But that’s precisely the problem. Everyone had gathered here to work on it
and they can’t make anything else inside the village. They’ve collectively
decided so.

For now, it seems to be decided that they’re going to make an armor first,
just so that the giant won’t die.

“We’re racking our brains right now because the materials aren’t enough
for this size”

“I see, that’s why you were wandering in search for good materials.
Indeed, this Giant doesn’t seem suited for combat”

“I’ve no shame……”

The Giant lowered his head apologetically, he bowed to the point that he
seems to be reaching for our hands.

No, in the first place, he’s too tall.

But a Giant’s armor huh.

For some reason…… an image of a certain robot flashed through my head.

Well then, a man who could be of help is right here.

That would be me.

“…… so, can I help?”

“What is it, boy? Thought of something good?”

“Yea. I’ve heard quite a bit. As for the materials for that armor…… what
about orichalcum?”

“You bring up Orichalcum so casually”

Dwarf-san (red) revealed some surprise after hearing me mention
Orichalcum.

As expected of legendary metals.

It could even elicit such a response from dwarves.

“Of course I can prepare an appropriate amount”

Even though orichalcum is precious in magic, it’s just another metal for
me. In that department, it’s not much different from a rock.

I could increase it’s amount as much as I want with [Replication Magic].

Of course, I should put it in mind that I could only increase it as much as
needed. There shouldn’t be a problem if it’s just an armor.

However, the Dwarf (green) gave me a suspicious look.

“And? Don’t tell me that it’s going to be free? We can’t give you anything
to exchange for something like orichalcum”

Even if that’s not the case, it does sound fishy.

But I nodded with a wide smile.

“Right? So I have a couple of suggestions, will you let me help with the
armor’s making?”

I thought that a reasonable compensation would probably be necessary
for craftsmen like them to let me handle stuff.

Even so, I still braced myself that they might treat me as some sort of
nuisance, but a Dwarf (green) grabbed my shoulder and closed in. He
grinned and laughed.

“Ain’t that just great? You have that much power, it’s even in the sword’s
magic. Won’t it be interesting if you lend a hand?”

It was unexpectedly easy, and I was a little scared of the Dwarves’ (red,
green) wicked smile.

What is it, what? What’s with this development?

I definitely had a difficult face, fully expecting a stubborn refusal.

This feels rather welcoming……

My image of a dwarf may be slipping, since I’ve just noticed this kind of
danger. I felt my expression grow more and more fearful.

“What, what?”

“What’s wrong, what’s wrong?”

Then I was surrounded by the dwarves that shuffled closer, blocking my
path of escape.

“Hey everyone! Listen up for a bit! This guy suggested something
interesting!”

The Dwarf (green) said in a loud voice.

At this time, I finally understood that this was the Dwarf’s (green) intention
from the beginning, when he brought me here.

These guys, they’re people that will use whatever they can use.

But…… is this not what I want anyway?

I gathered a lot of attention and I was beginning to get nervous. Then i
beat my own chest and said,

“That’s right, you guys! Just leave it to me!”

‘Oooh!’s resounded among the Dwarves.

“Ahh, whatever. It does sound interesting though”

Kawazu-san was also for it and hopped on the bandwagon. Perhaps he
was interested in learning a thing or two about Dwarf magic.

“Um…… what about our weapons?”

Naito-san’s timid mutterings were drowned out by the rowdiness of the
dwarves.

The conversation continued with that upbeat tempo, and the curtain was
opened for the great operation Giant’s Armor.

Basing on the Dwarves gathered data regarding the measurements, the
making of the armor began.

But what will it be? That is the problem.

The problem will no doubt lessen if I leave everything to the Dwarves and
do exactly as they tell me.

However, there are too many people involved this time. It became a
problem that there’s no concensus.

In a situation like this, we usually listen to the input of the the one who’ll
use it and give that priority, but there’s none of that from this weak-willed
giant.

So the white arrows all pointed at me since I provided the materials.

[You’re not confident so you’re asking for me to lend a hand? Can’t be
helped ~♪]

In the end, I had no idea what to do with tha armor, so I decided to
consult on someone I could rely on.

So right now, Tonbo-chan’s pleased face is shown on the screen.

“My, sorry to bother you. So this is about the design, alright?”

I drew an improvisation for the mean time and brought it to the computer
for the dragonfly to see. The dragonfly raised her shoulders in
exhasperation with a ‘how hopeless’. And gave an immediate rejection.

“No, absolutely no good. That’s too sharp! The eyes are too nasty! It’s too
slim that it looks like it’ll break!”

“I-is that so?”

It was a masterpiece that I gave everything to, so I was a little hurt.

But well, it feels like it had taken quite a lot of elements from anime-
inspired robots, so the comments are very good.

“Oh well, what I’m trying to say is: It’s not cute at all!”

However, the dragonfly ruthlessly slashed away from the convincing
reasons.

This had effectively made me raise complaints.

“Eeeh, but the armor doesn’t need to be cute”

[That’s so wrong! Cuteness is important! That’s because only cuteness is
justice! Aren’t armors just a type of clothing? You have to cherish that kind
of humour or your calliber will decline!”

“…… even if you say it like that, I still won’t feel that way”

I give up.

By the way, I think I’ve heard some interesting things about the Warlord’s
Armor.

The helmet really isn’t designed for someone to be able to walk around
with it.

Anyway, would a certain creative flare, meant for standing out, be
something that you’d want in a battlefield?

[Therefore, I suggest something that looks like this!]

She immediately sent a design for me to look at. At first, I wanted to
interrupt and defend myself.

[Hehe…… I know what you wanna say, but hear me out?]

“What?”

[Alright? The good thing about this armor is ……]

I listened to the dragonfly’s speech for a few minutes.

“…… and that’s why the feet will be short but it makes sense!”

……I was completely brainwashed by the dragonfly.

Well I also managed to arrange it a bit.

The Dwarves were listening to me attentively as I speak so confidently in
front of them.

“But are we really going to make this out of Orichalcum? Aren’t you
underestimating that thing’s hardness? Even we would take a lot of time
just to make a plate out of it……”

Even so, it’s reasonable to see some faces that doubts the feasibility of it.

“No no, it would be indeed very difficult if we make it normally but I’ll
handle the rough parts. My magic can transform anything, be it
orichalcum, into any shape”

“””Oooh~”””

“So then we’re going base the shape on this design. You’ll make the
gerenal figure, while we’re going to refine it”

“I’ll completely leave the finer details to you guys. I’ll just do as I’m told,
feel free to correct me if I make a mistake!”

After I presented that with confidence, the Dwarves began to consult
amongst themselves.

“Hmm. Well we won’t know until we try and that’s why it’s interesting,
yea?”

“Hold on, I think there’s some who oppose that this should be the armor’s
design?”

Various opinions were exchange, arguing and deliberating on the pros and
cons.

“Anyway, we have to try or else we can’t start…… why don’t you show us
your magical skills and what you can do with it?”

At the end, everything was up to what I can do with my magic.

But that won’t be a problem.

“My magic is a quite awesome, you see?”

Of course, I was prepared for it.

In front of the Dwarves, I showed them how I could mold the Orichalcum
like it was sugar candy.

It made a stir among the audience.

The conversation flowed more easily after I demonstrated.

It quickly reached a concensus, and it rapidly translated to actions.

The Dwarves drew some blueprints and gave me detailed instructions.

When I mold orichalcum for each individual part, the Dwarves would make
a commotion.

As I knew later on, it should be because orichalcum is a material that isn’t
just hard.

It has excellent magic resistance, so it should be difficult to change with
magic.

But I ignored that resistance and forcefully shape it like clay, leaving it to
process.

It should come as a surprise to dwarves.

Originally, it takes days of hammering just to form the gerenal shape.

Because of that, even with small hands, I was able to process the
orichalcum in moments- like the chest plate. It saves a considerable
amount of time.

It was the Dwarves job after that.

They hammered the resulting orichalcum chunks, refine it, and added to
the armor.

Orichalcum is still a metal.

As pure metal is brittle, it could become stronger through forging.

It could be said that it’s only possible because of dwarves.

Then the ridiculous design that we thought up took form with all the
gathered ideas. They are indeed hard-working and devoted craftsmen.

With that, I cast some magic on the product as a finishing touch.

I left the physical durability to the natural strength of the orichalcum, then
I added Repel Attribute Magic. I used some magic that would make the
interior of the armor comfortable.

It was designed while thinking of the Wyvern’s tendency to release it’s
breath of fire when it feels threatened.
I’ve also put in a little something called playfulness in it.

It took some improvements and experimentations to get the right magic
for the pair of eyes. I took some pride out of the cumulative improvements
that results in its considerable defensive capabilities.

With our sweat and tears, as well as plenty of our mischief, it was
completed after a week.

“Alright! Come out now, it’s showtime!”

The dwarf (red) called out in a loud voice. I built a decorative docking area
during the whole process, and from there, an armored giant emerged.

It’s body of silver was revealed under the sun, there wasn’t a single
distorted area on it’s surface. It was brilliantly polished.

The trunk is big, like a drum. The feet were very short.

On the other hand, the arms were unnaturally long while the head was
quite large.

It was round overall, but the mecha-like design was my hobby made
manifest by the dwarves.

There are several lines here and there, all over the body. However, the
joints themselves are distinctively hidden as much as possible.

The first thing that one will notice would be its unique shape.

There’s a tail that shakes like a snake toy, and huge round ears.

On it’s head, where the eyes should be, large yellow lenses were fitten in.
It occationally blinks with a ‘boun’ sound.

“It’s um…… cute”

Naito-san said that helplessly, as she came to watch the show. In contrast,
everyone else were incredibly pleased as we finally finished that gallant
figure.

“Brothers, it’s finally done!”

“And it’s all thanks to this dude! It was an interesting project!”

“Ah, you made something nice!”

Kawazu-san also tearfully looked up at the completed armor.

[Meow~!]

“It let out a cry!”

Naito-san was incredibly surprised, as expected, but that’s just the way it
is.

It was great to wear it for the Giant that has a height of five meters when
he stands.

I’ll just make it clear that the figure is a completely deformed tiger. (T/N:
‘deform’ was in English. It doesn’t have a negative connotation but making
an animal or whatever look “cute” is generally termed as ‘deformed’)

From now on, it will fight Wyverns which resembled dragons so the design
has to be a tiger.

It’s more of a costume than an armor, and it’s made to look like a round
and cute tiger.

While we’re at it, the stripes are programmed to appear when the owner
wears the armor.

This is a robotic tiger-model total defense armor……

“Toramaru 01!” (T/N: Tora = tiger; maru = usually found in names)

[Meow!]

It blinked its huge yellow eyes, and the cheers in the village heightened.

Just according to our rehearsals.

Let’s send an ale from me to the giant.

Toramaru 01 raised both of its arms with some metalic sounds, making
some noise in honor of it’s birth.

“…… it ‘meow’-ed right? Isn’t this a cat?”

Naito-san voiced her impression of it, but for now, it’s unmistakable that
this is the best seat to watch the show.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 53

Chapter 53

No, calm down.

In this situation, the important part isn’t the small old man.

It’s the ‘same’.

The face and body of the Dwarf look exactly the same small old man. We
had just went our seperate ways, but he’s looking at us as if we’re the
suspicious ones.

“……”

Wait wait, it’s different now that I look closely.

I’ll inspect the old man once again.

That Dwarf from earlier was wearing a red hat, this one is wearing a green
hat.

I silently gestured at Kawazu-san with my eyes, but he doesn’t seem to
understand so he just shook his head.

So I commenced an emergency meeting with a hushed voice.

“…… is he the same one from earlier? Twin brother? He didn’t say anything
of the sort, right?” (T)

“I wonder? This is also the first time I’ve seen Dwarves” (K)

“I don’t think he’s pulling some sort of prank…… ” (N)

“…… what do you guys think you’re doing, coming into my house and
whispering by yourselves?”

I immediately straightened up after being scolded by an irritated voice. For
now, let’s proceed with the conversation as if it’s a different person.

“Sorry, excuse us. We actually came to deliver this to you”

“A delivery?”

Now that I think about it, there’re no other clues besides the guidance
earlier as to who the letter would be sent to. I have no choice but to show
the reciepient.

A gave the letter that the boss entrusted me, the Dwarf (green) saw it, and
exclaimed in a loud voice.

“Oh, oh! I remember him! …… this is the kid I looked after when I was
travelling outside, how many years has it been! So he’s still alive”

The Dwarf (green) said that in delight, he seems to be incredibly happy.

The bond of a student and master is indeed a profound thing.

It was the right decision for the boss to write that letter.

“Um yes. He’s currently working as a blacksmith in a human village”

“Hohou! That little kid…… I wonder if he’s become better at hammering?”

“A, that’s…… ”

Speaking of, the only sword that I carry around was the boss’ work.

I could show it to him if he’s interested. I took out my beloved sword from
the magic pouch and presented it to the old Dwarf (green). For some
reason, the Dwarf (green) had a look of trepidation, and was uneased by
the sword.

“……you don’t have to be that wary of it”

I’m kinda hurt that he looked like he’s asked to touch some filth. The Dwarf
(green) had a troubled and helpless face.

“Isn’t this enchanted with something nasty? However…… I could feel a
frightening magical power from this sword, what’s going in? Is this really
something that he made?”

Now that he mentions it, I did a lot of things to the sword. I hastily
explained.

“Well I was the one that added those, he just gave the sword to me.
Someone thought it was interesting and tried a lot of things with it, so it’s
okay to touch it”

“…… you’re quite reckless, aren’t you”

The Dwarf (green) was still fearful, but he was a little relieved after
confirming who applied the magic and that may be why he took the sword
sword from my hand and brandished it with some familiarity.

Once the glossy shine of the blade was exposed, his cheeks became less
tense.

“Ah, this one…… rough as usual, but he’s definitely devoted himself to it.
A, excuse me. I’m done”

Dwarf-san (green) placed the sword back into it’s sheath and returned it to
me.

This time, he sighed and looked at me.

“…… and so? What have you come here for? The letter said something
about wanting a weapon”

“Ah, yes of course. But first, I’d like to give this to you!”

Once again, I stuck my hand into the magic pouch, and took out a PC this
time.

Naito-san made a sound of surprise. Still, I have to establish a form of
communication first.

We may need to have a lot of things made from now on…… and it would
be incovenient if we need some callibration for weapons.

“Hm? A weird box, what’s that?”

Based on my experience, they usually have a strange face after seeing it.
Contrary to my expectations however, it’s well-received this time.

The Dwarf (green) didn’t seem to fully understand what I just took out, but
he showed some interest because it looked elaborate.

He he, so this is the curiousity of a craftsman…… then it will be decided in
one go!

“This is a machine that lets you have a good talk with someone from far
away~”

“Ooh. That might be convenient. So you want me to give you a weapon in
exchange for this?”

Dwarf-san (green) asked cautiously. Please, I want you to think of those
two issues separately.

“No no. This thing is only useful if a lot of people are using it.
Rather, I would help you with something in exchange for you accepting it.
It would be great if everyone would use it. Here, a manual”

“A manual…… this seems troublesome. But I’m sorry.
I don’t have any spare time right now, you should just bring that home
with you”

“Why!?”

Even though he was taking it so well, it resulted in an unexpected answer.

Dwarf-san (green) looked a little apologetic as he scratched his head and
his face looked sober.

“There’s a project in the village where everyone’s gonna help in making a
Giant’s equipment. He has a big stature so it can’t be helped that it will
take a lot of time…… ”

“Giants exists!”

My ears heard the words of a very interesting plan, and I unconciously
leaned in.

So this is the interesting thing that the village is working on!

Of course this would be crazy.

Cause it’s a Giant, you know?

There’s no way I’d be calm.

People find gigantic things as a kind of Romance.

I guarantee that the Romance index would rise considerably just by
attaching it to the concept of making it gigantic.

Giant robot, giant insect, giant building……

And a Giant is gigantic, just look at the name.

At that time however, I didn’t notice Dwarf-san’s (green) eyes glint while
looking at me in that state.

“Oh? You don’t know about Giants?”

“…… huge?”

“Well they ARE Giants…… ”

“I wanna see!”

Seeing me heavily breathing, Dwarf-san (green) grinned and laughed. He
looked like he’s seeing something novel.

“You do? Such a strange guy. So why don’t you come along then? I’ll take
you there since you brought something interesting”

“Really!?”

“Yea, I don’t mind. He just arrived in the village as well”

“Seriously!?”

The conversation continued with a good rhythm.

OH! My heart was beating wildly and I can’t suppress my excitement
because I could immediately meet with this Giant, but then I noticed the
existence of the two behind me.

To put it in words, the both of them look like they’re about to face
something troublesome.

“A giant? That’s quite difficult to deal with……” (N)

“That’s right, you’re always interested in strange things” (K)

The pair’s reaction seem to be quite negative.

“What, but it’s a Giant, you see? They’re huge, you know? What do you
mean by difficult?”

I became a little uneasy and Naito -san firmly nodded at me.

“Yes. Firstly, they are dangerous. Giants are violent, and they’re famous for
being fond of wars”

“…… seriously?”

Getting told something like that feels like I just got handed some crap.

It’s fine if I’m just dealing with power, but I don’t want to be threatened.

I’ve always shrank away from people who are too aggressive.

“I don’t think you have to worry about that”

The Dwarf (green) smiled bitterly when he saw Naito-san’s guarded state.
They don’t know why not, so Kawazu-san and Naito-san tilted their heads.
Now what could be the reason?

He was troubled by the reaction.

Since it’s come to this, we can’t pass judgement since we haven’t seen him
yet. With that thought in mind, I left the computer as is, and went to see
the giant.

The Giant was indeed in the middle of the village square.

He’s just…… definitely a little different compared to the image that I’ve
formed in my head.

No, he’s big in terms of size but there’s a difference in terms of character.

“I’m so sorry…… I’ve taken up quite a bit of your time……”

“It’s fine, I say! Don’t worry about it! We already said we’re going to make
your armor!”

As for me, there was absolutely no problem with that.

It’s wonderful thing when it’s safe.

However, there were more interesting things in the square that we were
taken to. Sure, it looks like they were scolding the weak-looking giant.

They were…… small old men, a lot of them.

“Amazing. We weren’t being pranked after all”

I’m sorry for being suspicious, but now we’re watching and admiring the
sight of multi-colored old men with identical faces, surrounding the Giant
and bustling around.

Seeing that the faces were the same, even Kawazu-san’s eyes turned
round.

“Having the same face to this extent, it’s a bit disturbing” (K)

“Ah, Kawazu-san himself said it…… ” (T)

“……what is it? Won’t it be charming if I multiplied?”

“Stop it, I’ll turn green…… ”

“What kind of illness is that?”

By the way, do Dwarves have some sort of fixation when it comes to hats?

…… they probably do.

Each one has a slightly different-colored hat, each color is solely for one
person.

Maybe they use colors to distinguish between individuals. At least, that’s
the only way we can distinguish them.

“I’m sorryyy. I want to thank you, I’m really grateful”

While his head was being poked by Dwarves, the happy-looking Giant-san
doesn’t live up to his reputation at all.

“…… violent and loves to fight?”

“…… supposedly”

Beside me, Naito-san who was standing alert and guarded was also
underwhelmed by the weak-looking Giant.

T/N: I find it a bit sad that Kawazu-san lived for 500 years without getting
in touch with the fairy folk, like dwarves, etc. Like finally, he’s really on an
adventure now, not just building an empire.

Also, imagine Dwarves having various personalities but they’re always
mistaken as the same individual when they go outside. THAT would
undoubtedly give the impression of being “eccentric”

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 52

Chapter 52

“My goodness! You guys really helped me out there. I thought I was going to die when the Wyvern found me!”

The one who said that was the shorty that was leading us, in truth, he was actually a small old man.

He wore a red hat on top of his small but wide stature. One can see that it’s a pretty sturdy body.

When we shook hands, the skin on it was very thick.

I thought this could be it, and I was right.

“Who would’ve thought that we could encounter a dwarf this easily”

Kawazu-san was also a little surprised, but the dwarf embarassedly laughed and told us,

“Ahahahaha…… I became quite absorbed while looking for ores. There are a lot of our mining sites around here. But aren’t you guys really quite lucky to have run into me? Otherwise, you’d have to search around this rocky mountain for at least a few days!”

The dwarf man laughed heartily.

He may have said it lightly, but it was indeed incredibly troublesome.

I really wanted a break.

Had it come to that, I would’ve definitely used some magic.

However, I’m currently grateful for this good luck.

The place that we’re currently traversing isn’t on the surface of the mountain, it was inside a strange tunnel.

We were brought into this tunnel with his guidance. It was big enough for a few people to easily pass through, even though it was underground.

It was also subtly glowing even though I can’t see a source of light. One really doesn’t need to worry about the lighting.

If we’re right about this path, it could immediately lead to the Dwarf Village. It’s really much preferable to take shorcuts like this instead of walking along the mountain.

“What’s this glowing stuff?”

“Hm? Is this your first time seeing it?”

I was looking at something that looked like a plant, and the dwarf guy snapped a piece and showed it to me.

“This is called light moss. We sprinkle the spores when we dig out tunnels, It’s a convenient moss that glows in the dark, they easily take root”

“Digging…… this tunnel, Dwarves dug all of these!?”

I was surprised and did a double take, looking around the tunnel.

To make it in a scale that’s similar to the ones found in villages, as expected of Dwarves.

This isn’t just blacksmithing, it’s civil engineering and construction is very surprising.

The Dwarf didn’t deny it either, he laughed meaningfully.

“There ain’t anyone better than dwarves at handling stones. This tunnel here extends through the whole underground of these parts. The mining site is also underground, you can go anywhere here”

“Wow…… but since you have this tunnel, why were you out earlier?”

Saying that, the Dwarf’s actions were suspicious, but the person himself was self-concious and became talkative.

“Ha ha ha…… well that is, I thought of finding some strange materials. Right now, we have an interesting project in the village…… wait a bit, we’re almost at the exit”

The Dwarf suddenly cut off the conversation, and went near the wall in front of us.

He grasped a potrusion in the rocks, and seemed to push it hard.

We quietly looked on, and there was a quick transformation.

There was a brief vibration, then the wall in front of us split in two.

The light spilled in and the path was opened. It was our destination.

“Welcome to our Dwarven Village. Take your time, alright?”

The Dwarf man proudly announced and invited us into the village.

With the aid of the Dwarf we helped, we’ve arrived at the Dwarf Village.

The sounds of clanging and the sounds of trading resonates, it was a very lively place.

It looked like a pioneering village at first glance, but it gives you a somewhat adorable impression of it. That’s because the houses that were built were small.

With the short structures and the houses made of bricks, it really looked like a fancy diorama.

“This here village is protected by the rocky mountains. Some people from the outside occasionally come here seeking for weapons, but most of them don’t reach here. They could be attacked by Wyverns, or simply give up due to the harsh roads; either way, there’s rarely anyone who can easily come here”

“Oh? Then did you settle here in order to avoid dealing with them?”

Kawazu-san asked while looking around at the rare sight. The Dwarf laughed heartily.

“Hahaha! You can also say that. The biggest reason would be the availability of good rocks. But it’s not just that. Our weapons are quite impressive. Won’t it be very troublesome if we just make them on request? Besides, we have all the rights to choose who to give them to”

“Hmm, that implies you also screen those that get to use your weapons.
Hmhm, that’s quite reasonable.
It’s certainly not amusing to see your work used by someone incompetent”

“That’s right, this guy gets it!”

Kawazu-san was laughing with a mean expression, and the Dwarf also laughed in the same manner. They seemed to get along.

We walked around the village for a while, but I noticed something strange.

We’ve already entered the village but we haven’t encountered any of the villagers.

…… no, there’s the presence of people.

But none of them are on the road.

The Dwarf man also looked restless, it seemed like he wasn’t kidding when he said that they have a project within the village.

He led us to a slightly larger building, and the Dwarf immediately bowed his head to us.

“Well then, this is the lodging! I’ll be going now, alright? If you guys want some weapons, we’re a bit busy right now, so I’d be happy if you could wait. Especially you, scary guy!”

From what he said, it seems like he brought us here with proper understanding about me.

If so, the Dwarves are justifiably courageous people.

I hastily called out to stop him when he was rushing away.

“Please wait a moment! This is the last one! Do you know about this person?”

I took out the letter that the boss sent, and showed it. The dwarf looked at the address and nodded a few times.

“Ah, do you guys know him? Then it’s that house”

He easily gave away the place where the house is, and immediately rushed within the village.

“…… that was, a bit of a rowdy Dwarf, wasn’t he?”

Naito-san murmurmed unexpectedly. However, I prefer that he was talkative instead of the eccentric that they’re so famously labelled as.

“Well, it seems like he’ll make a you a proper weapon when he could, so isn’t it great, Naito-san?”

“Yes, that’s right. It certainly makes one to have expectations”

Naito-san seemed happy after saying that.

That Dwarf should also be aware of Naito-san’s skills, and he can’t just dismiss the request of the one who saved his life.

“What was it that the dwarf was talking about, what kind of thing are they building?”(K)

“Beats me…… I wonder how this’ll all turn out”

Even though Kawazu-san said that, that’s our main concern, since we can’t do anything if it concerns the other party’s convenience.

But you’ll never know what’ll happen after this.

We’ll see after waiting a bit.

“Right…… Kuma is also looking forward to this, so I can’t make him wait for long”

Naito-san seemed worried, but it can’t be helped.

Following the directions, we gave a house a visit.

It was made of bricks like the other surrounding houses, but it had a green roof.

We knocked on the door and immediately got an answer.

“Come in! It’s open!”

“Excuse us……”

We came in once we received the invitation.

However, in the next moment, I was stuck at the door’s entrance.

Kawazu-san bumped into my back, and Naito-san looked over my shoulder to see what’s up inside the house.

“What the…… quite a scary human has come”

Inside the open door was the same small old man.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 51

Chapter 51

“What’s with this mountain, a harassment……?”

“Please do your best, we still have a long way to go”

“Come on now, stand firm”

As always, Kawazu-san’s teasing voice is annoying.

We’re currently in the middle of climbing.

It’s a mountain road that offers nothing but the view of the mountain, and
we’ve been walking steadily for half a day now.

The only reason why I haven’t done something like Teleport is because this
mountain is complex.

If one doesn’t do it well, there’s a chance that there will be a head-on
collision with the rocks, so continuous teleportation is risky.

No…… there should be a magic that will allow long-distance travel.

However.

[And that’s precisely the reason why you don’t have any physical
endurance (sigh)]

……withdrawing after being told something like that would be like an
emasculation for a man.

That’s why I’m braving the mountain path like this, as the slope of the
mountain becomes more treacherous the further you go.

However, it can already be said that I’m different from a common modern
person who lacks exercise

Ever since I came here, I’ve been travelling here and there.

I’ve also been secretely doing some push-ups and they’re showing some
results. My abdominal muscles that could be seen from the baths have
become a little defined lately.

I can keep up with everyone right now, isn’t that quite something?

I could also keep going a little farther……

“We’re finally a quarter of the way there. The roads would be much more
difficult from here onwards so be careful-…… is something wrong?”

Noob mistake, please go easy on me.

“No, nothing…… ”

I can’t say it, no matter how desperately I’m trying, trying to take another
step.

Naito-san was leading while holding the map with one hand, still wearing
a complete fullplate armor sans the helmet. Just how come she’s not even
having a hard time breathing?

Kawazu-san was using his froggy body and he’s humming a cheerful song.

I was following behind them like a toddler.

This journey’s representatives are the three of us.

Additionally, the dragonfly and Kumaemon are house-sitting.

Regarding Kumaemon, he’s also in need of a new weapon and it would
have been better if he went with us, but someone had to take over our
duties in the forest. He discussed with Naito-san and decided to stay.

The dragonfly…… would probably just be troublesome today.

‘Once you’re there, tell me if something interesting comes up’, it’s still
fresh in my memories how she sent us out while munching on a cookie.

“We’ll soon be near some Wyvern nests. There’s no way to know what will
happen, so please take caution”

It’s not the time to complain as Naito-san briefed us about what to expect
once we neared some places.

But well, something like that isn’t really a problem for me.

“Ah, those parts will probably be alright. I’m quite disliked by beasts, you
see”

“What kind of reasoning is that. ……somehow I kind of understand”

Naito-san showed an immediate understanding.

What does it imply when something like this has become easy to
understand?

There’s some necessity for me to deliberate this.

“By the way, aren’t Wyverns creatures that kinda resemble Dragons? Are
they related to Suke-san and the others?”

“No, Wyverns aren’t dragons, they’re categorized as demonic beasts. Better
remember that because Dragons will try to kill you when you say
something like that to them”

The easygoing Kawazu-san was the one who answered my easy question.

Hmm, it seems like there are clans that you can’t lump together.

It really is for the best to remember it because I don’t want to
unintentionally antagonize either of them.

“Got it…… however, just how many dangers are there in this mountain?
It’s almost like a theme park, like the ones you can pay for back in my
world”

I tried to lightly pass off my anxiety about the future by being talkative, but
Kawazu-san snorted a laugh.

“I wonder? Isn’t it useless to think about that? Rather, it’s your physical
endurance that’s a cause for concern”

“I said…… I’m fine. I can just recover as much as I want with magic…… ah”

Kawazu-san looked incredibly pleased when I unintentionally let that slip,
he laughed as he gathered his hands behind him.

Damn, I said something unnecessary.

It seemed that his previous remark was meant as a bait.

“Hoho. You’re just good at relying one magic! Well it can’t be helped,
what, just use it however you like, right? I’m not using it though! Youth
isn’t that impressive after all”

“Guh……. hmph! I didn’t mean it like that! That was just a figure of speech
just now! There’s no need to use magic, this is just sightseeing!
Sightseeing! Rather, shouldn’t Kawazu-san worry that your skin might dry
up?”

“Hmph! My moist body will always velvety damp!”

My useless, stake-less conversation with Kawazu-san should have reached
Naito-san, but she still didn’t break her prim expression and seriously said,

“…… I understand that you’re not worried. However, I can’t be like that. At
least, I don’t know what to expect in these mountains”

“Ah, I can deal with almost anything. Leave it to me, even if it’s a natural
disaster”

“A natural disaster?…… No, the weather should be fine for a while”

“……you were supposed to tsukkomi*, Naito-san” (T/N: see previous
chapters)

“R-really? I’m sorry”

You really don’t have to apologize, you know?

It’s a problem how Naito-san’s reactions are never wrong, considering that
it’s not really a joke.

We proceeded forward while in that condition until we could finally see
the first landmark.

I looked around with eyes like a kindergartener’s that went to the zoo for a
field trip.

There were a lot of green-winged reptiles on the huge rocks.

However, the dragons that I’ve seen are really much more intelligent,
resemblings humans a lot. Wyverns are really beast-like.

It like walking in a Safari Park, this uncomfortable atmosphere is really
different from dragons.

They don’t try to approach us at all, in fact, they were fleeing as fast as
possible.

I really scare them off after all. What lies ahead gives me a feeling of
loneliness instead of a feeling of crisis.

“They don’t have to be that terrified……”

“……this is actually quite a strange sight to witness. They’re famous for
being ferocious demon beasts”

Naito-san was watching said ferocious demon beasts that were obviously
frightened, she had the secure air of a spectator.

And with that, there’s no problem to pass by the frightened Wyverns’ nest.

It was then that it occurred, in a place just over the nests.

From somewhere, we clearly heard a scream that’s different from an
animal’s.

“Waaaah! Please help meeee!”

Since it was a voice calling for help, there’s no way we can just ignore it.

“What is this about?”

“Hmm, is it a human?”

The three of us looked at each other, then a large Wyvern appeared from
the front, and I could spot a small shadow being chased, running away
with all it’s might.

“It seems like someone’s being chased…… I’ll go”

Naito-san made her move before I could say something.

The Wyvern was chasing someone that’s half of my height, and it looked
like a child at first glance.

The Wyvern was engrossed with the prey right before its eyes so it didn’t
seem like it noticed us.

Naito-san quickly jumped away, passing the shorty that was being chased.

She sent a kick right between the Wyvern’s brows before it could even
refocus itself.

It’s really huge compared to me, so I prepared my magic in case Naito-san
gets blown away.

However……

“Gruaaaaa!!”

It was the Wyvern that was blown away and crashed.

It wasn’t enough to exhaust the force from Naito-san, so it bounced
exaggeratedly on the ground, like a rubber ball.

In the end, it foamed in the mouth and fled to the sky. You can see just
how much panic it was in.

Well, anyone would be like that if they received such a ridiculous kick out
of nowhere.

I actually felt like praising it for surviving that.

“Phew. Are you alright?”

“Y-yes……”

And acting as if nothing happened, Naito-san proceeded to help the
shorty. As for me, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing so I rubbed my eyes.

Is it…… really normal for warriors to kick away a Wyvern with nothing but
sheer strength?

I thought her movements were a little more conventional compared to
Sailor Soldier but……

When it comes to power, Naito-san is really built differently.

“Hey, Kawazu-san…… I thought that Naito-san was strong when she fought
Sailor Soldier, but isn’t she overly strong?”

I thought I was prepared for changes in rewriting my common sense, but
that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Because Kawazu-san didn’t look like he was opening his mouth
dumbfounded.

“Indeed…… this is also the first time I saw someone send those things
flying with a kick”

“I see……”

Why is it that apparently, being common isn’t something that happens?

Naito-san brought the person that she rescued over to the dazed us.

“Is something wrong? A, right. Since we’re here, why don’t we bring that
Wyvern from before as a souvenir? I heard that they’re very tasty”

I opened my mouth and declined, ‘no thanks’, to the absurdly wild Naito-
san.

“Uh…… we still have a long journey ahead, why don’t we just let it go?
Yea”

“Are you sure? But I suppose that’s true”

I secretly stole a glance at Naito-san, and patted my own abs.

The fact that my abs were finally getting some definition…… I think that I’ll
keep that to myself.

T/N (rambling): I think one of the reason’s why Tarou is improving so slowly on his
physical aspect is because he messed up his own biology. Muscles need to
be damaged in order to grow, but we all know that Tarou will heal them
instead of enduring the following day’s pain. Unless he heals it in a specific
way that it’s developing instead of regenerating… but there’s huge chance
that he’s reverting them back to their original state hahaha.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Well then, does everyone remember?

Back when we went to the Elf Village, Naito-san and Kumaemon fought a
fierce battle against Sailor Soldier.

That really doesn’t matter anymore, everyone’s alright now.

But there was something that wasn’t alright.

For example, something important that it could be said that it’s the soul
of a swordsman, was damaged at that time.

While looking at her sword that was sliced in half, Naito-san herself said,

“No, this was a result from my own inadequacies. I still have another,
there’s no problem at all……”

Even if she said that, she still had this disappointed atmosphere.

Even Kumaemon was rolling the circle part of his broken morningstar,
there was a certain sorrow to it.

“…… yup, weapons are certainly important”

Looking at these two, feelings of guilt bubbled up as the cause had
something to do with me after all.

I have to move fast and contact Suke-san if they have have any good
weapons.

No, even weapons have their own sentimental value.

Should we repair them or should we go with a totally different approach?

After all, those weapons can’t even win over our fence.

Besides, weapons that suit the user could be enchanted by me and
Kawazu-san, and we could definitely make something interesting with
them.

It’s just that I’m totally out of my depth when it comes to the topic of
weapons, so I should ask the specialist that I’m familiar with.

I went back to the first village that I visited, the place with the inkeeper
and her husband.

I had them install a computer, but when I showed the pair’s weapons, the
boss’ eyes turned round.

“The morningstar aside……, this sword is quite unreasonable……”

“Ah, as I thought”

I won’t be able to lift that sword up unless I change it’s weight with magic.

I could understand how it’s unreasonable.

But I think the boss who’s inspecting the sword is also quite awesome, as
he’s lifting it up so easily.

He’s using Body Strengthening with it, I bet. Otherwise, I’ll cry.

The boss carefully examined the weapon and said the results.

“I think I can fix it, but with just this lump of iron, it’s durability will
inevitably decline. Just who thought of using this weapon anyway?”

The boss was talking to the computer that I brought.

Then after that, Naito-san’s voice could be heard from the computer.

“I used Body Strengthening Magic with it, as it seems to be quite sturdy.
Normal steel swords would usually break easily. Recently, I couldn’t handle
a sword properly unless it’s at least that sturdy”

However, the boss was incredibly surprised about the voice that he heard.

“Oh! This thing is really interesting! You can really talk to someone who’s
far away! But anyway, I see…… if you’ve trained to that point, you should
be quite strong. I couldn’t say that to anyone from around here, you see?”

He’s talking to the computer at this time, but for now, one should take it
into consideration that humans might be afraid of dark elves.

From the boss’ personality, I think that Naito-san thought too much into it,
as the computer is currently not showing a face, being just on call mode.

But it can still be done like this.

If there’s an opportunity, you should take it with a optimistically.

“If we have to make it stronger, it becomes a problem of materials. We
can’t just bulk it up with steel, can we?”

“I see……”

While the boss and Naito-san were groaning and sighing about some big
problem, I remembered something incredibly, a metal that’s way better
than steel.

“Speaking of materials, how about Orichalcum?”

When I told him about that, the boss nodded with a difficult face.

“Yes yes, it can’t be anything but a magical metal. But first, we don’t have
something like that. I really can’t do anything but make the sword even
thicker……”

“No, if it’s Orichalcum, then I have it”

I immediately took out some metals samples from my magic pouch and
arranged them. The boss was stupefied, and for a while, he just examined
the samples, but he sighed and went back to sit on a chair.

“……hm, sorry but I can’t. I just don’t have enough skill to handle this”

He scratched his head, looking a little awkward.

According to the boss, magical metals are too hard and they require
special skills to be forged.

I see, as expected from a legendary metal, even handling it is difficult.

“Can’t I just form it into a sword with magic?”

I don’t think that it would be that difficult if I can just shape it, but the
boss crossed his arms and wrinkled his brows towards me.

“Hm, you can even do something like that? But…… I wonder. Although I
can’t do even that, it’s not just a matter of forming a shape. For example, if
we’re forging steel, we don’t just consider the form it will take.
Aside from the difficult parts, just hammering it requires a craftsman’s
intuition. You don’t have that, do you?
We’re dealing with orichalcum, so of course you can still make something
by just shaping it”

“……that’s true, but I don’t want to make something so half-baked”

I think the boss frankly laying out the ugly parts is for the best.

It would be a waste unless it becomes a proper sword, it’s the rare
orichalcum after all.

It’s natural to want to make a properly functioning weapon even without
the use of magic.

It’s not like I can’t understand what the boss said about craftsman
intuition.

Back then, I also watched the TV and saw a place where they make
Japanese swords.

Simply creating the shape doesn’t make it a strong steel. Craftsmen extract
impurities, as well as control the carbon content, then they temper the
sword.

It just that but I can’t do something like that, nobody will be delighted
with a mass-produced imitation sword.

However, the words that the boss spoke next managed to ignite my
interest.

“I know someone who could do it though……”

“Really!?”

As soon as I took the bait, the boss expression became incredibly
complicated, seeming like he feels guilty for not fulfilling an order, but he
told us this,

“That’s right…… if anyone could make it, it would be a Dwarf but, well……
there’s a catch”

“A Dwarf!?”

The next one who was caught was Naito-san, who was more interested in
the boss’ story than I would have thought.

“What’s wrong, Naito-san?”

I’m surprised about the uncharacteristic tension coming from her, but
Naito-san shyly calmed down.

“N-no, speaking of Dwarves’ weapons, they’re quite renowned. Having a
Dwarven weapon is like a status symbol for warriors. But it’s also a tribe
famous for their eccentricity, since they’ll never give you a weapon if they
don’t like you……”

Naito-san’s level of excitement was quite considerable since she was
unconciously talkative, it’s obvious to see her longing for it.

……doesn’t this mean we have to do it?

I don’t know just how extraordinary it is, but when I think about Dwarves,
I’ve heard that they’re some sort of underground fairies.

Just a little more information from boss’ mouth would be good.

If there’s more Queens and Serenades around, then my impression might
change a bit.

“Then, would it be alright if you introduce us?”

I lowered my head, and the boss slightly frowned but agreed.

“Okay…… if it’s just introducing you. Although that person is my master,
and he’s usually a cranky one. I can’t guarantee that he’ll agree, okay?”

I nodded at the boss concerns.

“Well in that case, we’ll think about it when the time comes”

“You’re right…… anyway, it’s been a while so should I also write a letter for
my master?”

“If that’s so, I’ll try to leave him with a computer too. If he knows the
number of this computer, you’ll be able to talk anytime”

I suggested with good intentions, but boss gave a bitter laugh.

“……I’ll pass on that. I’ll just get yelled at everyday”

He said that while looking very uncomfortable.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 49

I got a bit busy mid-week so this is quite late. I’ll try to update more before it’s Monday GMT -4

Chapter 49

“Kawazu-san…… you went overboard”

“Ghu…… are you talking talking about me?”

Right in front of me was a dehydrated Kawazu-san, with only about 30%
left of his body moisture.

He was against the pond of alcohol that I made, but when I tried to make
a bath where alcohol flows out endlessly…… he was reduced to this.

That’s why I told him to stop.

For humans, there’s no such thing as satifying greed.

In the first place, it was problematic when you get drunk just by entering
it, and there was also the issue of removing impurities. Kawazu-san didn’t
know of those.

“But……, wasn’t it a wonderful performance?”

While swallowing the water that contained a lot of my magical power,
Kawazu-san finally showed some signs of recovering. I could do nothing
but nod as I looked away.

“Ah, that’s right…… I think it turned out to be a nice bath?”

However, looking at it in its entirety, the results were unmistakably pretty
great.

We made rooms according the Naito-san’s and Kuma Emon’s tastes, and
they gladly accepted those.

For Kuma Emon, he can enjoy the scent of grass in the tatami room, and I
don’t know how much he’s been rolling there.

By the way, Naito-san’s room was in the first floor, and the second floor
was Kuma Emon’s Japanese-style room.

The third floor is a warehouse.

You can enter and exit the bath through that warehouse.

The others had returned after they’ve seen that the bath was completed,
and are nowhere to be seen.

I also found it was time to depart when the surroundings were becoming
dark. Holding Kawazu-san, who was lighter than usual, under his arms, I
went to Naito-san’s room in the first floor.

At first, I thought that there was no one there but I felt someone’s
presence on the wooden deck, so I went to check it out. Naito-san was
sitting on the railing and seemed to be looking out.

Bathed in the colors of the sunset, Naito-san was gazing out with her silver
hair. I sucked in a breath.

This is what picturesque looks like.

I can hardly believe that she’s made from the same stuff as I am.

No, maybe she’s fundamentally different from me because she’s a fairy?

Then I must be made up of things that the world had discarded.

Naito-san seemed to have noticed my staring.

I wanted to stare some more, but there’s nothing that I can do when I’m
already discovered.

Thinking that, I went out. Naito-san turned impassively and I became
curious of shadowed smile that she had.

“Ah, Tarou-sama. Everyone had descended and left earlier. Tonbo-dono
took Kuma somewhere”

“It’s good if they get along…… let’s just hope that he doesn’t get toyed
with”

“That’s right, hahahah. Kuma can’t seem to go against Tonbo-done”

Naito-san also laughed after she said that.

Tonbo is quite aggressive ,so by now, the bear is probably being pulled
around by the dragonfly.

“Is something the matter, Tarou-sama?”

After I was asked that, I brought forth Kawazu-san, who I was holding.

“Me? Oh the bath is mostly complete but Kawazu-san got a little carried
away, so I thought I should take him home”

“…… zzz”

Kawazu-san was snoring in his sleep when I took him out.

…… it’s unexpectedly disgusting*.

Even Naito-san’s calm face grimaced.

“Um…… that would be for the best”

“Yeah”

I nodded for the time being, but nevermind Kawazu-san, Naito-san really
seemed down when I tried to have a conversation.

She didn’t show it explicitly, but I feel like there’s something off about her
voice.

What could have happened?

What’s the reason for Naito-san’s melancholy…….

Thinking that far, the problem is that there are many possible causes.

Like how this day was too much…….

I recalled the folly of just doing whatever I wanted, then I guiltily asked,

“Um…… have I done something bad after all? If you really don’t like it, I
could make you a normal house”

After I said that, Naito-san hurriedly waved her arms to deny what I asked.

“Ah no! I’m very grateful for it. It’s a wonderful house…… I was wondering
if its really alright for me to live in such a house ”

“So you were worrying about that! There’s no problem at all! It’s not
anyone else’s, as this house belongs to you guys”

I told her that cheerfully, but Naito-san’s expression didn’t clear up.

Rather than that, she looked more and more down, to my anxiety.

“My house……?”

“That’s right, that’s right! …… do you not like it?”

“No…… I also wanted to try living in a house that’s on top of a tree. Long
ago, there was a time that I thought about it”

It was surprising to hear Naito-san say something like that, and it showed
up on her face.

As if noticing it herself, she became embarrased and shyly blushed, then
she scratched her head.

“It’s a story from when I was a kid, this…… would really be wasted on me”

“I don’t think that’s true…… ”

At least, as I recall her illuminated by the sunset, I won’t be able to draw
such a picture with this frog as a model.

I think that that much is enough of a qualification to be the owner of this
house.

“How can I express it? The days after you came to the village, everything
seemed like a dream. I wasn’t able to follow any kind of schedule as there
was no certainty on what would happen next”

Naito-san hastily murmured her thoughts for the past few days. Even for
me, I can’t really say that I don’t find the past few days strange.

“Well, that was indeed a slapstick-filled trip”

Remembering our excursion to the Elf Village, there were too many stupid
events that makes me want to hold my head.

It’s rare to exprience those drastic situational changes.

Even I can’t keep up with such a dizzying pace, and being led around by
idiots, there’s no way that I won’t be confused.

“I even did Sailor-dono wrong”

Between the serious discussions, an interesting topic came up, and I
unintentionally burst out laughing.

“Sailor-dono, you say?”

“Eh? Is she not called Sailor? I only followed how Tarou-sama adressed
her”

“Hm? Ah, yes that’s right, and it’s fine”

“Really?”

Hm, let’s have her called Sailor-dono for now.

What, I’m happy if it becomes a one-time surprise.

Naito-san had a strange look but she turned to face me again, and
suddenly said some words of thanks to me this time.

“I really want to thank you so much for this…… actually, I wasn’t really
expecting that you’d accept us. I thought of going on a journey otherwise”

“Oh, then perhaps I have done something that I shouldn’t have?”

If you had come expecting that you’d be refused, I guess I would have
stopped there.

Had I not accidentally narrowed down their wide range of choices?

I honestly thought that it was bad, but Naito-san quietly shook her head.

“No, that’s not it. We didn’t have anywhere to go. It’s also true that we
would like to repay the gratitude.
Thanks to you, I was able to build my mother a proper grave. I’m really
really grateful”

“No no, we have also troubled you. Plus, aren’t we supposed to help if a
beauty is in trouble?”

I replied jokingly but Naito-san had a troubled expression after hearing my
words.

“In the first place, saying something like that is strange……”

“Really? That’s strange?”

“Yes. It’s strange to apply that to Dark Elves. Whether or not our existence
itself is even acceptable…… anyway, it’s like that”

If you perceive them like that, Naito-san, how did you manage to live with
yourself as a Dark Elf until now?

I can only imagine, and it’s probably on the point that whatever I say
would only remain as spoken words and not reach her.

“Haaah, what can I say, there are a lot of things in this world that cannot
be explained”

I just found some applicable words to summarize, since I naturally can’t
say anything nice. Naito -san nodded lightly and smiled.

“That may be right. But sometimes, I think the fact that people like you
exist, is also interesting”

“I got to be thought of as interesting……”

“Have you not been aware of it?”

Naito-san’s eyes met with mine, and we laughed with each other.

“No no, I knew. By the way, there’s something that I have to tell Naito-san.
…… you see I, though just a little bit, heard anout Naito-san’s case from
Serenade-san. Even the reason why you stayed in that village…… ”

Since I will have to reveal it at some point, I thought that it would be
better to get it over with as early as possible. Naito-san looked as if she
didn’t think much of it.

“Ah, so you’ve heard that. I don’t really mind since it’s something that I
wished for”

“…… I see”

“Yes, that’s why there’s no need for you to worry about it”

She had said it just like that, but she’s undoubtably taking me into
consideration.

With all those said, in the end, I still didn’t manage to know what caused
Naito-san to be low-spirited.

I’m the type of man thats bad at knowing what I should do.

In the first place, had I been such an attentive man, I wouldn’t have made
her look lacking in experience for her age.

While it was somewhat depressing, I couldn’t leave Kawazu-san out cold
for much longer so I reluctantly wrapped up our conversation.

“…… got it. Then I should bring Kawazu-san away now. Naito-san should
drop by sometimes. I’m sorry about everything”

“No, Tarou-sama has nothing to apologize for. It would be inappropriate of
me if I won’t even talk to the person who helped us out”

I’m a bit relieved after she said that. However, there was something else
that I was bothered about so I added,

“…… by the way, can I ask for a favour?”

“What is it?”

“Can you stop addressing me with a ‘-sama'”

“…… I definitely cannot. Anything but this”

“Is that so……”

Since I was flatly refused, I grumbled about futility and went out of the
room.

But right then, a lighbulb lit on top of my head.

That’s right, if I can’t cheer her up, then I could just call someone that
could.

If anyone could see my expression, they would notice that I’m laughing.

I casted the magic that I thought of while closing the door.

s i d e Naito

Tarou-sama went out and I was left alone again.

Was it really alright to have followed here?

Putting the bear aside, I’m aware that I’m not used to this.

“He even made us such a wonderful house…… haven’t we just managed to
disturb him?”

I’m always like that.

I’ll always cause some incovenience to someone by simply existing.

This somehow brings me back to when I was small.

It’s an old memory when both my father and mother were still around.

My father was a human while my mother was from a race called Elf. Since
we lived in a place near a human community, I grew up without an
inferiority complex.

Thinking about it now, my father knew what it means to follow a dark elf
when he was knighted by a human kingdom.

He deligently prepared a place where we can live so my mother and I
could hide.

My mother always had a smile as she taught me various things.

I would remember my father’s tenderness once in a while, as my mother
would smile more brilliantly.

And my knight father had always said this.

I wasn’t born a knight, but since I am, I will continue to be strive to be one.

I had always looked up to father when I was young.

I always asked my father for sword training.

My father was initially flustered about it, but he eventually taught me
properly when I had asked so enthusiastically.

Of course, I’m not a knight.

Rather, I’m the opposite of that.

That’s why I’ve come to think that I musn’t be thought of as one, now and
forever.

But what am I right now?

As I silently stared at the closed door, I furrowed my brows and sighed.

“Really…… what am I doing?”

My father lost his life in battle, and my mother died of illness, so I left on a
journey.

In her deathbed, my mother kept begging for forgiveness for something
while she feverish.

I didn’t know anything, and I couldn’t understand what she meant. I
searched for my mother’s hometown in order to understand what it was,
but on that journey, I learned just what kind of beings Dark Elves are.

Remembering it now, my mother probably felt guilty for giving birth to me.

And although everything might have been brought forth by mere luck, my
mother’s sins are indeed forgiven.

I have also received my freedom.

With that being the case, I was supposed to return the favor when I
sought out my benefactor.

On top of that, I’ve even troubled the bear by involving him as well, there’s
no going around that.

“I can’t be a knight, rather aren’t I too much unlike one?”

It’s a self-deprecating thought.

I’ve reached this far by just going with the flow, but I’m uneasy as I feel
myself without an anchor.

Actually, I myself have realized that I have lost my original goals.

“…… mother, father, what should I do now?”

Even I surprised myself by uttering such words, but perhaps I let my guard
down because I was alone.

Then, as if in response to my voice, the room was engulfed in a blue light,
and I was suddenly yanked away from my self-loathing.

“…… what?”

I naturally put up my guard as I couldn’t wrap my mind around the
situation.

But I felt an enormous amount of mana.

I pulled out the dagger that I always carry with me, but magic arrays had
already appeared behind me before I noticed them.

But seeing the figure that emerged from the magical array shook me to
the core, the dagger dropped from my hand.

A familiar person appeared out of the light.

There’s no way I’m mistaken.

“……Mo……-ther?”

I mumbled, and the Elven woman in the light slowly opened her eyes.

And when our eyes met, she smiled that nostalgic smile.

[…… it’s been a long time]

“…… are you, really my mother?”

I unconciously let out a pathetic voice.

The strange, illogical sight in front of me had stolen all my attention.

[Yes. That’s…… right. I was also surprised that this kind of magic exists. It
seems that I could talk to you now, even for just a little while]

The laughing voice of my mother was exactly the same as the one from my
memories.

Is this a dream?

I can’t believe my own eyes.

That the mother who’s voice I’ve been longing for, is really right in front of
me.

But I don’t know what I’m supposed to say, my words are stuck on my
throat.

There are a lot of things I want to say.

Even if it’s a phantom or a dream, there are a lot of things in my chest that
I wanted to unload.

There’s no way that this could be real.

But my weakened heart cannot bear to deny the miracle that occurred.

Besides…… I have some things that I have to report first.

I was completely drawn in.

“Mother, please listen. I went to the place where you were born. Then, I
was able to have you pardoned.
Mother’s grave was also built. And since father’s town no longer existed,
his name was also included”

I thought she would be pleased with my report.

But mother’s expression somehow clouded over, why does she look so
sad?

[I see…… thank you. It must have been hard on you]

I was confused, I couldn’t understand the meaning of what my mother
said.

“Eh? But hasn’t it always bothered mother? When you were on your
deathbed, didn’t you apologize so much?”

I said that dumbfoundedly. Mother closed her eyes and denied.

“No, the one that I was apologizing to…… should be you”

“…… me?”

For a moment, I couldn’t comprehend my mother’s voice.

For what would she have to apologize to me?

My mother did nothing that she needs me to forgive.

She had always been kind to me.

My mother hesistated for a bit and explained to my confused self, she told
me in a very serene voice.

[Yes. The world will always look at you with judgemental eyes for simply
being a dark elf. I thought I could be with you longer, since Elves have long
lifespans. I’m sorry…… you endured a lot of hardships, didn’t you? …… I’m
really sorry”

My mother might be phantom, but her words were immeasurably kind,
and incredibly sad.

Have you been concerned over something like that……?

But even so, I still felt down.

“…… so…… it was like that. I’m really no good. I can only create trouble.
Didn’t mother also regret that you gave birth to a dark elf?”

I had always been worried about that.

Ever since I came to the Elven Village, I had nurtured my misgivings about
the existence called Dark Elf.

I had no intention of letting that out of my mouth, but I unconciously said
it.

With me being like that, my mother showed an expression that I’ve never
seen before and raised her voice.

[That’s not true!]

“Eh?”

[It’s absolutely not true. Being your mother had always been my pride.
Don’t forget that. So don’t laugh when you look like you’re about to
cry……”

My mother reached out for me when she said that.

Of course, I can’t touch it.

I wasn’t supposed to feel anything on my cheek, but the moment mother
touched it, I could feel a warmth there.

It was warmly flowing and dripping down, and I finally realized that they
were my own tears.

“…… mother, but dark elves were a bad thing in mother’s home village,
wasn’t it my fault that my mom wasn’t able to go back? I always thought
that you blamed me for that”

The young me didn’t know why mother was apologizing.

[…… that’s wrong. I never did. No matter what anyone thinks, we love you.
That’s why you shouldn’t hate yourself”

“……”

I had always been anxious.

On whether or not I had been loved. As time passed by, I knew more about
myself and the anxiety grew within my chest until it was like an illness.

Droplets of water fell to the floor one after another.

When was the last time that I cried like this?

I feel like I’ve forgotten how to shed tears until now.

[It’s okay, because I’ll always be by your side and watching over you. Laugh
free when the times are fun, cry freely when it’s sad]

With how she so gently spoke to me, I raised my head.

I have to say it properly.

I want to be kind like my mother, I want to be proud like my father.

“Alright…… but I’m fine. I’ve grown stronger despite it all. That’s why
mother should stay by father’s side”

Mother looked at my face and laughed in relief.

[……. that’s right, but once in a while, it’s fine to show your weakness to
someone. That’s a good thing, you know?
Well then, we’re almost out of time. Please thank the person that cast this
magic.
I’ve always regretted that I wasn’t able to properly left you some parting
words.
Please be happy. I’m sure that your luck will also come”

“Yes. Thank you. Farewell, mother”

[Alright, please take care……”

When I reached out, my mother’s hand disappeared like a phantom before
it touched mine.

I thought it was lonely, but my fading mother’s hand was certainly
received inside my chest.

Perhaps everything was an illusion.

However, there was no way that I could think that the words I received
were fake.

s i d e Tarou

“I wonder if it all went well…… ”

“…… you’re such a-, just what did you do this time?”

I was spacing out while sitting at the roots of the World Tree when I heard
Kawazu-san’s cry.

The rehydration was apparently successful.

Since he said that, he might’ve had an inkling on what I had done.

Just a frog yet he feigns sleep in one moment then becomes energetic in
another.

“Ah, are you up, Kawazu-san? Well Naito-san seemed kinda depressed, so I
thought that instead of me, her mom would do better in encouraging her
to cheer up”

“You’ve once again released some extreme and frightening magic……
then?”

“Ah, I think it went well?”

It seemed like Naito-san had always been concered about her family.

It would be great if she would feel a little bit better after this, I thought
lightly. However, Kawazu-san had a difficult expression on his face, and I
can see that he wasn’t amused.

“…… but do you really know, Tarou?”

“What?”

“My oh my. In the first place, you don’t really know if that girl’s mother
that you brought out really thought well of her daughter, do you? For all
we know, she disliked her child”

It was only after I was told that, that I just realized the possibility.

I felt as if I could hear the blood drain away from my face.

Indeed, it was premature to decide after a brief thought.

Worst case is if she really was despised, then it wouldn’t be strange if
Naito-san had herself wounded deeper.

Why hadn’t I noticed such a basic thing?

I felt nauseated from my own blunder.

“……”

“What’s wrong? ……don’t tell that you haven’t even considered that
possibility?”

“…… I-it’s alright, I think? She can’t possibly be holding a grudge, after just
coming from the afterlife …… right? ……”

I said with hesitation, Kawazu-san let out a big sigh and suddenly stood
up, brandishing his arms in front of me.

He made fist and beckoned me over.

“Hmm, Tarou ……put down your barriers for a moment”

“……roger”

I understood what he meant.

I undid my barriers and braced myself, clenching my teeth.

Then I was on the receiving end of Kawazu-san’s strong fist. I endured the
tears that threatened to spill out.

“~~~wu!”

“Well there really was no point in what I did, and I wonder if that girl
would even do something like hitting you. Keep this in mind, alright? You
shouldn’t do something just because you can do it. That’s why I always say
that you don’t think things through”

“……you’re precisely right”

“If you really think you did bad, then be sincere to the person herself”

“……as I should. I’m really know good when I thought that doing this
would be fine……”

“Definitely”

This time really was severely lacking in thought.

If it didn’t go well, Naito-san might not just receive some wounds, it might
have become something more serious.

“……what do you think should I do?”

“Just – *croak*!?”

He was just flailing about and suddenly raised his voice, I hurriedly turned
around and there stood Naito-san.

I thought my heart would leap out.

Then I jumped to prostrate myself.

I was so scared that I can’t even raise my face.

However, I slowly lifted my eyes away from my feet, and I stiffened once I
settled on her face.

Because her eyes were red from crying.

“That……”

“……that magic was your doing, wasn’t it?”

“…… I-I admit!”

I was being stared at with such intensity, so I straigtened my spine and sat
upright.

“Um…… did it really go badly? I mean, I’m sorry!”

When I rubbed my head on the ground, Naito-san lifted her brows.

“…… please don’t do those kind of things so abruptly. This is the result
from that”

She pointed to her own eyes, and after Naito-san said that, I wanted to die
because of my own idiocy.

Damn it! This might really end up being extremely serious!

However, just when I was preparing to receive any punishment that may
kill me,

Naito-san suddenly smiled and laughed.

That smile was very beautiful, Kawazu-san was taken in and I couldn’t help
myself either.

“However…… I have to thank you. Also, I’m sorry for I have greatly troubled
you for lending your powers to someone like me. My capabilities may be
negligible, but I swear on my life that I will surely return this gratitude. For
now, please take my words for it”

I seem to have become a clay figure because she unexpectedly gave her
gratitude and apology.

“Huh? Um…… you’re not going to kill me?”

Naito-san shrugged her shoulders to my outrageous question.

“…… just what do you take me for? I won’t do such a thing. But that’s
right……”

Naito-san cleared her throat with a cough. I responded by straitening my
spine further.

What is the judgement?

I prepared myself, then Naito-san pointed her finger and said clearly,

“Then for this, I would cease on addressing you with ‘-sama’. I’ll be calling
you Tarou-dono from now on”

My eyes widened when I heard her words.

It seems like it didn’t go badly.

Looking at Naito-san’s face, even I could tell so.

That smile had never been as peaceful as it is now.

It felt like it became a wonderful smile.

Special thanks to Paul for motivating me this chapter~

T/N: *グロイ – I wasn’t sure what this was, so I used google image search. I
regret it. I should’ve just guessed. One random thing about Tarou’s language, it really teaches me search for new and mashed-up Jap words, hahaha.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 48

Another relatively long one, at this rate, each chapter = 1 chapter in the manga. Whereas before, it was 3 of these for 1 manga.

Chapter 48

[I will surely find a way to return to the previous world]

After we finished our mission in the Elf Village, Sailor Soldier immediately
went out on a journey in order to find a way back to our world, leaving
only those words behind. As for me, I am not going to search for
something when I don’t know if it really exists or not.

Isn’t it shameless of me when I’m also an otherworlder? No no, but what a
good result would be…… is something that you have to try to find out,
right?

In any case, we’re divided.

Instead of that, I have something that I must do.

“”I don’t mind. Elves are faries in the first place. There’s no reason to
refuse if one hails from them” -so the Queen was quick to give her
permission. I think I’d like to build Naito-san and Kuma Emon’s house-”

The news received a well-deserved applause, then I raised my hand.

I wouldn’t listen to the pair that just came from the Elf Village when they
said that they wanted to build their own house, then I would just force my way to
take over.

After all, they’ll be living like they’re camping until the house is complete,
so this is the natural order.

Doesn’t it follow that the construction of their house should be considered
as an urgent matter?

“We cannot possibly bother you to lend us a hand. We can do it out by
ourselves……”

It’s a problem that Naito-san is obstinately refusing the help.

“Eh? …… you don’t need my help?”

“Yes, we can’t just inconvenience you just after arriving……”

She told me that decisively, and my powerless body slumped over, then I
looked at the sky.

“……I see, that’s right. Wahah, what was I getting worked up for? I’m an
idiot…… yes, they can build their own house…… quite easily”

I kicked a stone that was near my feet.

Oh, I was able to kick it.

Even me, who’s at the level on an insect, can actually do something like
kicking a stone.

“Aah, Naito-san, you made Taro sulk”

“It would be really annoying if this continues, you know?”

Enter Tonbo and Kawazu-san’s supporting fire, Naito-san flinched.

As if she failed after trying, she hurried to say,

“…… ! N-no! That reminds me, there are a lot of things that we might have
trouble with! Kindly help us with those!”

“Oh! Then let’s get pumped up for it! Why don’t we start by planting
acorns!”

“I think you’ve become energetic all of a sudden but…… um, acorns?”

Of course everything would be great.

There’s no way I’d pass on something so interesting!

We immediately searched for a suitable area where the pair’s house would
be built, and found a place with a flat ground and good sunlight.

There were a lot of bushes, and it would be hard to spot.

It wasn’t much, but it was a good foundation.

“I thought of building a hut right around here, it would be easy to hide”

Ah I see, the criteria that they’re basing on is already different.

For a moment, I wondered what values of mine could I force upon the
spartan-like pair.

But immediately behind her was Kuma Emon, whome I noticed was
sporting a restless look, I grinned.

It seems like the ideal minimalistic lifestyle is only for Naito-san.

If that’s the case…… then there’s no need to hold back.

“A hut, you mean like the one found in the Elf Village?”

“Yes. That was also something that we built ourselves”

Naito-san says it matter-of-factly, but a handmade hut of all things?

Do you intend to live there again……?

If memory serves me right, I think that hut looked like a very narrow
warehouse.

You can’t really build something big with only two people working on it.

I don’t want to say anything bad but you already have us, and it would be
a disgrace for a wizard to compromise for that.

“But would we really allow them to live in such a hut? Heh, of course not!”
(T)

“No! We can’t!” (Tonbo)

“Naturally! That’s out of question!” (K)

“You guys look like you’re having fun somehow……”

Naito-san and Kuma Emon were left confused, as they can’t keep up with
our tension.

I understand that feeling.

Kawazu-san was also like that in the beginning.

“But see, it’s actually really fun to build a house with Tarou, you know? It’s
that”

Even Kawazu-san is saying so, there’s one more here that wants to fulfill
some expectations. Let’s raise up our spirit then.

“On that, I have a propasal for the house design this time…… this!”

With some fanfare, I presented something I drew yesterday without
sleeping. I made sure that everything was laid out.

“Um…… what could this be?”

However, I got a lackluster reaction from the house that I drew on the
imitation paper.

Since Naito-san looked like she didn’t know, I said,

“A treehouse!”

Yes, a treehouse.

Just like that, a delightful house built on top of a tree.

But hasn’t everyone felt it?

Looking at a treehouse, huh? There’s something that’s kinda different from
what I imagine……

Firstly, in my imagination, there would be a house around the top of an
enourmous tree where you feel like you can sleep normally. But reality isn’t
that kind.

Such a huge tree isn’t easily found, and the branches just won’t be strong
enough to support a whole house.

However, this is a world of fantasy, dreams and romance.

Where you can solve everything with magic, like a fantasy.

“Then to start, let’s grow a tree!”

“The meaning of what you just said sounds messed up”

Kawazu-san was being nitpicky about what I just said, but I already knew
about that issue.

“Then just to check, you two don’t have a problem with heights, right?”

“Well yes. It would also be convenient for standing watch, but we can’t
really wait that long……”

Naito-san also thought that I plan to rear up a tree from scratch, and was
trying to half-heartedly refuse it.

Of course we have to grow it from scratch.

But well, not normally.

“Come on now, trust me on this. Then is there anything else that you’d
like?”

“Something that I like? It would be enough to keep the rain and wind out”

“Disqualified! The bar is too low!”

“Disqualified……?” (Naito)

I turned away from Naito-san.

Let’s continue with trying Kuma Emon’s suggestions.

“How about you, anything?”

“Gaugafu gafu!”

“What what? You want some tatami mats? Hmhm, you’re the type that
could adapt! Then again, I also have some tatami for me…… so then, other
than that, I’m free to do whatever I want, right?”

Since an unexpected response was received, let’s take this chance to push
it further.

“As expected of the master! So opportunistic!”

“Stop it! You’re making me embarassed!”

The dragonfly’s motivation was also nicely rising, so we immediately went
with finalizing our plan.

“For starters, it should have a bath, a kitchen, and a washroom, right? A
bedroom, a livingroom, a dining room, and since they want to keep watch,
a spacious veranda would be great”

“An important aspect to consider would be, what about the water?
Should it be magic again?”

“No, let’s just improve the tree’s taxonomical construction, and make it
able to pump groundwater up. In reverse, the waste that is just produced
through living could just be sent to the roots and serve as fertilizer”

“…… could that be considered as taxonomy improvement?”

The dragonfly was expectedly doubtful about it, but we have a chance to
do this.

“There’s nothing impossible for me when I remodelled a frog to be
bipedal!”

“So this is about me?!”

Without further ado, we immediately started working at the previously
agreed-upon spot.

First of all, let’s have the place’s vegatation make enough room, then
prepare the ground.

Then on the center of the construction site, I started to plant the seed I
prepared beforehand.

It’s not acorn, by the way.

Then it’s finally this guy’s turn.

In fact, you can say that this was all for the sake of the treehouse that I’ve
proposed.

“Alright, hold this”

With my chest pounding in excitement, I handed the equipment that I
brought to the two people who, in my opinion, would be the best choice.

“Gau?”

“Ah, so we’re doing ‘That’ again”

“Precisely! I have high expectations of you!”

It seems like the dragonfly remembered, so I just gave them a thumbs-up.

“But won’t it be faster with Taro’s magic?”

I made an X with my hands and firmly shook my head sideways in
response to Tonbo’s words.

The dragonfly was mystified, but it was pretty clear that using another
method is out of question.

“We have to do it this way, don’t we? Since we only have two of those, I
want to make Tonbo and Kuma Emon execute it”

I depended on the dragonfly to be the guide, and Tonbo reluctantly
accepted the bat with an ‘it can’t be helped, but she was grinning and
clearly motivated.

Tonbo-chan was putting on some airs and was showing off.

“Alright! Let’s go! Then Kuma Emon, follow my lead!”

“Gau!”

The bats energetically opened up.

They were umbrellas, one big and another small.

“Spin first!”

“Gau?”

Spinning and spinning.

Both of them spun.

“Gather up your spirit……”

“G-gau?”

When they stopped rotating, they began to concentrate on the umbrella.

Gathering and collecting that feeling, and release it on the sketchy but
right timing!

“Release it!”

“Gau!”

The pair forcefully thrusted their umbrellas.

Naito-san was scratching her neck since she doesn’t know what any of
these means.

“Um…… what is this?”

“It’s coming!”

At that time, I felt some signs of change and I called attention to it.

“?”

A strong bud sprouded from the ground.

“Alright!”

“Eh?”

In the next moment…… the bud immediately took of from the ground and
started growing.

It had a growth rate that defied common sense.

“Pra! For it’s expansion and contraction wholeheartedly! Jumps are
sometimes effective!”

“Gau!”

The fairy was bouncing and bouncing.

Growing towards the sky, a gigantic tree stood proudly.

There was some strangeness to it, as the huge tree was growing, it emitted
a strong majesty to it, while it burrows it’s roots deeper.

“…… just what kind of seed did you sow? Don’t you feel like there’s an aura
that compels one to bow down to it?” (K)

Once he noticed it, Kawazu-san’s reaction was a little weird. Looking
closely, the wood was indeed too splendid.

“Um let’s see, I think it was a souvenir from the Elf Village? They said it’s a
World Tree or something. The leaves are usually used as medicine……”

“……! Don’t care! I heard nothing!”

The moment I mentioned the World Tree, Kawazu-san’s face turned blue. I
decided to act as if I didn’t see anything.

“Yeah? …… maybe I should also act like I don’t know anything and leave it
be?”

“Do that! I won’t say anything bad so do that!”

I might have done something that I shouldn’t have again.

Fortunately, most people won’t notice things like a tree’s aura unless
they’ve advanced far enough in magic. The ones that will notice would just
be Kawazu-san and the Queen…… probably.

But the huge tree had grown this big, and I’m satisfied with it’s progress as
it had even overreached the goal.

“…… a-ah”

Looking up to the point where her neck would hurt, the Naito-san that had
her mouth agape was to be pitied as this was just the beginning.

“Phew…… this should do it!”

In contrast to Naito-san, the dragonfly looked pretty satisfied and did a
high-five with the dancing Kuma Emon, who was unexpectedly playful.

Kuma Emon has a high capacity to adapt.

I would have to thank the pair for a job well done.

However, while he was checking out this huge tree, Kawazu-san
remembered the gargantuan tree that I grew back when I just came into
this world.

“I’ve managed to grow a huge tree before, but this one has the perfect size,
doesn’t it?” (T)

“That’s right, that one from before reached the clouds after all”

“Right, I wonder what was on top of that tree? Maybe it saw god or
something”

“Who knows…… the only thing we’re sure of is that there’s definitely
gonna be clouds there”

“Isn’t that a given? Kawazu-san, hahaha”

“That’s right. Hohoho”

“Please don’t act so relaxed! Just what is this preposterous tool?!”

Once Naito-san came back to her senses, and made a commotion while
pointing at the umbrellas. It was the tool that we made, that’s general
knowledge now.

“Huh? No, it really doesn’t have any deep meaning. It just makes things
grow”

“Yes that’s right, very impressively……”

“Right? Then let’s go to the next step!”

“Are you done explaining with that?!”

Naito-san, I really want this to be done before the evening of this day, so
please don’t say weird things.

I rested my palm on the huge tree that had just grown, and immediately
activated the magic to develop the tree.

Magical power poured into the magical array, and changing it’s structure
into the form that I envisioned.

After the operation was done, a big tunnel opened wide before my eyes.

“Great, then shall we go on?”

I conjured a light source and entered, and although I was the one that
made it, it was still a surprising structure.

Inside the thick walls of the tree was an incredibly wide space. There was a
large pillar right at the middle.

The pillar thoroughly expressed the vitality of the tree, as the sound of
running water had even reached to our ears.

Moreover, an endless spiral staircase was attached to that pillar. You can’t
really determine how long it is, due to the darkness and it’s overall height.
It was supposed to reach all the way to a big branch that could be seen
from the outside of the tree.

“Let’s hurry and go up and-…… Tonbo’s the only one following?”

“Yup, everyone’s gonna wait outside”

Hmm, it’s really to dark and staying outside might be for the best.

The dragonfly and I eventually started to climb up the stairs with just the
two of us.

On the way, I slowly climbed up while attaching proper lighting, as the
footing may be dangerous. This is quite fun.

It feels a bit adventurous.

I prepared magical lamps that gives off a mysterious light without heat, so
that it won’t hurt the tree.

At that time, the dragonfly was the one that gave detailed instructions,
and it resulted in quite an elaborate design.

I was skipping up when I first started climbing, but unfortunately, it didn’t
last very long.

“*wheeze*…… haaa…… *wheeze*…… haaa……, no good, it feels like
something important will escape my mouth”

…… the spiral staircase is too long.

My legs were heavy, and it was hard to breath, it was too much exertion
for my weak frail constitution.

I should have made an elevator……

Although I have reached this state, the dragonfly that was following me
with her fluttering wings was looking fine, and staring at me in
disappointment.

“How pathetic, Taro…… look! There’s one place left for a lamp!”

“…… wait a minute. Give my heart some time to recouperate it’s strength”

“Hur-ry-up! We haven’t finished builing the house yet!”

“…… that’s right”

While the dragonly was kicking my butt, we finally arrived at the top
branch, and I became more tired then.

Because the three figures of Kawazu-san and the others were already
there.

“Hey, you’re slow”

“…… how come you’re here”

Hearing what I said, Kawazu-san stared at me with eyes full of disgust, and
he said with a froggy face that only a frog could make,

“How you say? We flew up here from the outside, using wind magic.
Promptly.”

And he was together with the apologetic-looking Naito-san and Kuma
Emon.

That cheat magic.

I don’t know what to say, doesn’t this mean that the stairs are
unneccesary?

Even though I tried hard and did my best.

I felt a bit defeated, but I don’t have time to consider such a thing.

“Whatever…… I’m tired. Let’s hurry up and make the house”

It’s the realy thing from here, and I can’t afford to feel down.

I was about to consolidate the image of the building, but I unexpectedly
received a request from Naito-san this time.

I would fulfill mostly anything that you would request for, so don’t hold
back and bring it on.

“I’m sorry, but can you make it so that it doesn’t stand out? Being exposed
makes me uncomfortable”

Naito-san is unexpectedly more uneasy about the prospect than I thought.

But whatever the reason, it’s finally something that she took interest in, so
I had to put it into order no matter what.

“Really? Something inconspicuous huh……”

What should I do about it?

So far, I planned to build the house around the trunk, but that would be
too noticable.

Then should I make it look like an ordinary tree if seen from a distance?

Right then, I remembered the spiral staircase used to climb up, and
modified my plan.

The interior had a lot of space.

Then, isn’t there a readily available space even without going through the
trouble of making a cabin?

Near here, there are faries that use the tree itself as castle just over there,
there’s nothing we can’t do.

“I thought of something interesting”

“Oh? What are you planning to do this time?”

Kawazu-san’s interest was also piqued, I smiled fearlessly and formed the
image in my head. I prepared the magic once again.

“Hehe, just watch”

I concentrated my conciousness into executing the magic, but there
weren’t any visible differences after.

But I can’t say the same for the interior.

After I attached an entrance with a handle, it was complete.

“What did you do?”

“I made some rooms inside the trunk, three floors of it”

My new piece of work, the inconspicuous Tree House is complete.

No, I think that this is also a form of a dreamy treehouse, how about it?

“Ooh, isn’t this nice, it has a similar feel to the Queen’s place” (K)

“Well that’s about right. Let’s hurry and enter, I’m also unsure if it’s made
properly”

Then again, it would be inferior in terms of size compared to the Fairies’
castle, but I think this is quite good as it is.

When all of us got in, the finished room really looked like a doll house.

Maybe because it was shaved down, or because it’s just the tree, there
was a dense green smell.

Once we install the windows and have the water service running, it’s
overqualified for people to live in.

“The bath should be big…… that’s right! Why don’t me make it an open-air
bath while we’re at it!”

An open-air bath at the top of the tree would be too high.

Naito-san was struggling a bit when the house was almost finished.

“U-um! You don’t have to go that far!”

So you’ve chickened out at this stage, you might want me to hold back,
but there aren’t any self-restraint left on my after coming this far.

“Eh? Doesn’t Naito-san want to bathe?”

“No, um, I just usually go with a steam bath or just cold water-…… that’s
not the point!”

Hmm, It’s not that I’ve never heard of her style before, but I decided that
it’s really better to enter with warm water and take your time.

Kawazu-san and the dragonfly are in favor of it as well. It’s not that I can’t
do it.

Besides, immersing in hot water will improve blood circulation, and it
would ease one’s tiredness.

I’m going to push through with Japanese style dogmatism and prejudice.

“That’s unacceptable! I’ll have you use this bath, by all means! The bath
will heal your body and mind. Kawazu-san, I’ll leave her shampoo and
conditioner to you!”

“Of course, leave it to me!”

“Tonbo-chan, think of the bath’s design!”

“Hey heeey! Let’s make a our size of bathtub?”

“That’s why, it’s determined to be an open-air bath! No more counter-
arguments!”

“O-okay……”

On that day, by the time the sun has set, a splendid treehouse filled with
our hopes, had been completed.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 47

I was about to post this chapter in parts due to the length, but I also kinda didn’t want to… so I flipped a coin and just finished it after all.

Chapter 47

s i d e Kawazu

“…… was it really okay to send Tarou alone with this atmosphere? There
were even three people watching us during our sightseeing yesterday”

“Hn? Are you worried about him?”

The girl from another world said that, she came into the room worried.

When I asked, Sailor Soldier kept her arms crossed and her eyebrows
showed hinds of unhappiness.

“Does it mean that Kawazu-san isn’t worried? Even though he’s been gone
fore a while now?”

Hm, that’s indeed the case, but if you ask if I’m worried then the answer is
no.

“Well…… they will most likely execute whatever it is they’ve planned. They
might even go as far target his life”

And with all the ease like dealing with with the neighborhood’s dangerous
dog.

There were even eyes all over town, and there are soldier lying in wait that
have surrounded our accomodations.

Going out alone in this situation would be like putting a target on your
head.

“…… isn’t that bad? Have you thought of something?”

Sailor Soldier seems to be deeply considering something, but it’s probably
going in the wrong direction.

“No no, not especially. Won’t it be fine? Rest your worries and let it be”

“What’s with that……!”

Sailor Soldier finally raised her voice, looking very anxious.

She had probably felt a sense of crisis ever since we came here.

That’s incredibly remarkable for ordinary humans, and it’s natural to worry.

Coming here, it’s the happy-go-lucky brat that’s weird, as usual.

No, is it possible that he can feel danger?

It’s fine if it’s just a matter of thick-headedness, but if you act based on the
fact that you don’t instinctively feel fear, chills would run down my spine.

Actually the current situation doesn’t neccessary warrant itself to be called
as a crisis…… it’s normal at this point.

“Hm, speaking of Elves, they’re a specially kind of prideful race even
amongst fairies.
They’re notably conceited about being unbeatable when it comes to
magical technology.
They can’t gracefully accept losing.
My…… or maybe they’re reacting as if they’ve lost.
Using their magic and wisdom, it’s not strange if they think they can easily
crush a human that only has enormous magical power”

Such temperament could also be said about humans.

Putting it into an extreme perspective, if you’re told that you yourself are
exeptional and unparalled, a feeling of pride would eventually blossom.

But it’s somehow a bit unfair to compare with ‘That.’

“That doesn’t that give us all the more reason to go and help!?”

Sailor Soldier could no longer hold back after hearing that narrative.

Distressed, Sailor Soldier’s actions of grabbing her equipment and jumping
out looked quite dazzling.

“…… impatient girl”

I let out an unenthusiastic sigh while looking out the wide open door.

It’s just the thoughtlessness of youth.

I’m troubled as I can’t express this evaluation with my own mouth, so
what would be a good way for me to get the message across?

Without knowing the extent of his magical power, Tarou would indeed be
a convenient amateur.

That ignorance is sometimes enviable. I kinda feel old.

“She went after all, is that okay?”

Tonbo asked above my head, but I don’t feel that there’s a need to stop her
from going.

……keep this a secret, but it it might be better that way.

“Not okay. But that’s youth. What, she won’t be easily defeated with that
pendant that Tarou made. And before that guy gets into a pinch, Tarou will
finish everything and go out”

“…… won’t the elves be pretty pitiful then?”

“I don’t know that much. The ones who started it are at fault”

“Uwah……”

Well that girl can let loose as much as she wants, but it was the other side
who were the ones that were guilty first.

There’s nothing to do about it.

Actually, I would like to give my compliments if you have the nerve to
come.

“Don’t go too far away from me, alright? After all, we’re acquainted with
Tarou so we can become his weakness. Then again, that kind of guy might
just abandon me”

Then again, my relationship with ‘That’ is too torturous that I had to laugh.
For some reason, I felt something patting my head, so I promptly looked
up.

“It’s okay. Taro will also save Kawazu-san”

While having my head patted, and listening to the unchangingly
unworried dragonfly, I smiled for another reason.

I see. That’s possible, and fine if so.

“Hohoho, that would be good. But getting saved by that guy…… won’t be
interesting”

“Naturally”

Tonbo puffed up her chest, and I snickered, then I feel that I’m still quite
young.

I strained my ear to listen to the fun-sounding commotion outside.

s i d e Tarou

I heard a strange sound when I was putting my guard up, and cautiously
opened my eyes.

Then before I knew it, my field of vision was clear, and it was pretty quiet.

“……?”

“What…… the……?”

Checking it out, I could see the five figures look somewhat surprised.

Then I understood that something is finally over.

I decided to remain standing at attention, as I didn’t do anything in
particular. I felt like I heard a strange sound, like glass shattering.

Is this it?

In any case, if it’s on the level that it can’t be noticed that it was over, the
secret W was anticlimatic.

“Huh? Are you done after this? Whatever you were doing looked
incredibly flashy that I could only be surprised by it but…… really? Just
this?”

“Ah…… yes, just this…… only”

The Elf responded with extreme awkwardness, so there’s no doubt about
it.

I see, so it’s over with this……

Then it’s my turn.

“Oh hou! …… well then! FUAHAHAHA! I don’t know what magic you were
trying to pull off, but it didn’t seem to do anything to my twenty-two
layers of magical barriers!”

Honest numbers are just right!

There might actually be more, but I didn’t count so who knows!

I decided to laugh, speaking the lines I prepared beforehand and with
exaggerated gestures, like a staged play.

It’s kinda sad how no one reacted at all, even though I tried to act as cool
as possible.

Lifelessness? I already graduated from that.

“You don’t need that much……”

“…… is that so. Well then, please get used to it from now on. Then again,
we won’t really see each other that much”

Let’s pretend nothing happened.

I was about to withdraw, but the Elf man in the middle called out to stop
to me.

“U-ugh. Is that all! We tried to take your life, you know?!”

“Oh? When? I didn’t feel that my life was threatened at all”

“……!”

The good looking middle-aged Elf didn’t have any more words for that.

But if it’s really just at this level, then time when I was roared at by
Kamase-san was definitely several times scarier.

Compared to that, today, I was just brought into a strange room and had
myself subjected to some light.

I was actually quite relieved when I saw that illusion.

And now they looked desperate, whereas they were flustered earlier.

“Then can you please wait a moment! Won’t you at least ask for
something as a sign of our apology!?”

“Yes? …… well I’ll accept anything that you wanna give really……”

And apology now that you were full of killing intent just earlier……

Just how much do you think you can play your game?

If you’re that desperate, then I feel a bit sorry for you to reach that state.

“Oh right! Then how about this, we give you someone from us elves!”

“…… yes?”

“There are poweful people amongst the elves, and we can give you a
servant! It could serve as your hands and feet, and would surely do an
excellent work!”

Oh wow, these guys go way beyond my expectations.

Is this an employment transfer? No, the nuance feels like it’s closer to
human trafficking.

Even I had to wrinkle my brows to this.

“……hmm. I’ll say this clearly. I don’t like that kind of thing”

“!…… then don’t you have anything that you want!?”

To ask me if there’s anything I want.

I’m sorry to the overly persistent guy, but I really can’t think of anything.

“Nothing in particular”

They predictably choked on their words after my quick reply, but they still
had the spirit to not give up.

“T-there should be something, yes? Right! What about gems? We shall
offer some Elven treasures”

“Hmm. It’s a shame but you guys don’t have anything that I want.
Not to brag, but you can’t please me with gifts, since I think that they’re
not difficult. I can make anything”

“T-then, what is it that you want?”

He asked with a pleading voice, so I replied.

“Something like…… a relationship on mutual trust? Although, you don’t
seem capable of such a thing”

“……!”

The impression of ‘Prideful Elf’ sounds exaggerated, but it is accurate.

Their behaviour until now is anything but based on trust.

I prepared to leave for real when I thought that the conversation is over at
this point, but I suddenly heard a voice, and I just had to stop my steps.

“Ahaha! You’ve beed one-upped!”

The atmosphere that was greatly tensed up was suddenly broken, a playful
laughter echoed through the room.

Wondering what’s going to happen next, I started to look around and saw
something blue flutter downwards.

“A petal”

It was a petal of a blue flower.

For some reason, petals from blue roses fell like confetti.

“???”

In the face of quite the meaningless event, my mind went blank.

However, the Elven individuals seem to understand what is going on.

Why are there falling flowers, don’t you understand what is happening?
That’s suspicious to begin with.

“I-it can’t be! Why this person!?”

“Eh? What?”

How do I describe it, they have incredibly distressed expressions.

I turned to them while they were in that state, as I didn’t know what
situation this is. That man came down, along with the fluttering roses.

“What’s that……”

My face is in the most surprised state that it has been since I came here.

Out of nowhere, a blonde man slowly fell with prepared sounds of violin.

His chest was visible with his fluttering clothes that one might expect to
see in a carnival.

To be honest, had I been told to wear it, I would immediately have to
refuse.

But since it’s a blonde person with excellent features that is wearing them,
they look stylish. People who are genuinely gorgeous to this level are quite
rare.

The blonde carnival from the ceiling floated towards me, then he offered a
blue rose and flashed a golden smile.

“My! I heard that an interesting guest had arrived, and I couldn’t just stay
still! I finally decided to reveal my face!”

“Oh, Great Elder, Why are you here!”

The elves revealed their astonishment, and the golden man was quick to
control them.

“Non! I don’t like to be addressed that way. A rose that blossoms in the
moonlight, call me Moonlight Serenade!”

A-rose-that-blossoms-in-the-moonlight-Moonlight-Serenade-sama, in all
and every sense that I could think of, descended.

s i d e Captain

“”””” Nouooooo!!!!!”””””

Elven warrior danced like leaves in the sky.

They could do nothing in the storm-like battle, but be blown away.

“…… how could this be!!”

I’m alone, in spite of myself.

Those guys, they were strong, prepared warriors who had undured all
kinds of training.

Seeing them easily trampled like garbage felt like a nightmare.

But the nightmare isn’t over.

The one who created this insane situation was the lone girl in front of me,
while all the senses inside my head refuses the fact of the matter.

She knocks down rows of soldiers near her, fighting her way until the
Parliament Tower.

“Damn it!!”

I pulled on my bow and arrow, and shot.

This bow of thunder imbues the power of lightning to arrows, it’s my
heirloom.

An attack is like a thunderstorm!

Once it is fired, one will be instantaneously pierced within a flash. (T/N:
redundancy kept)

A flash of lightning should silence the target.

A small sound of thunder could be heard, as the arrow flew straight.

“Fu!!”

But the itself lightning was immediately struck down.

I doubt my own eyes at the absurd spectacle, but it was undeniably reality.

“This arrow…… you’re the person that shot and broke my sword, aren’t
you? I liked that sword, you know?”

“…… hiiiii!!”

When I heard the girl talk about it, screams were ripped from my throat
before I knew what I was doing.

The girl must have found my screaming to be a kill-joy, as she sighed and
moved her gaze away from me.

“…… a well, I don’t have the time to deal with you right now”

The sword in front of me was pulled back, and I managed to survive.

While I was feeling relieved, a sense of defeat sprung up from the bottom
of my belly, and I clearly know that my face was distorted in ways that it’s
never been before.

I followed the back of the girl who had ran away, but before she got very
far, she stopped. I also stopped.

Checking out what’s happening, a familiar armor had blocked the girl’s
path.

“…… you came after all, Naito-san”

“Yes…… I have something here that I must do no matter what”

A fullplate armor and a two-handed sword.

But the other side was intercepted.

I don’t care about such a thing.

Stopping that girl, somehow could possibly do that has appeared.

I opened my mouth and let my emotions take over.

“You’re too slow! Hurry and deal with that girl, Dark Elf!”

The usual commanding tone.

But in that moment, something suddenly stood before my eyes.

When I noticed that it was a sword, my conciousness somehow got
distant.

“Shut it…… next, it will land between your eyes”

And with the last thing I saw being the girl’s heavy eyes, I lost
conciousness.

s i d e Tarou

“…… and another one has appeared”

What’s this guy gonna do?

Character-wise, and overwhelming denseness is seeping out.

It would primarily be a mistake to compete.

The person in front of me had a presence that I just don’t think I could
compare to.

This Elf called Serenade was grinning and laughing as he was checking me
out unabashedly.

“Alright~! Is it you? The human with an immense amount of magical
power. I’m sorry for having you come all the way just to say ‘hello’. The
truth is, I myself wanted to go out and meet you, you know? But these
little ones were absolutely against it and they won’t let me go.
I understand that they’d be lonely without me, but I guess it’s simply hard
if your parents might be leaving, isn’t it?”

“Erm……”

“This is a rare changce to meet, since you are a man who could possibly
become my friend! However, is it regrettable? Since we’re too isolated,
correspondence with other places might as well be inexistent. It’s really a
dilemma”

I had finally found an opportunity to interrupt Serenade-sama’s one-sided
continuous chatter.

“Let’s see…… who might you be? Anyway, is Moonlight Serenade your real
name?”

“Non! I heard from the Fairy Village’s Queen that you make nicknames for
people! It seemed interesting, so I came up with my own nickname! I was
initially worried that you might not understand it, but it seems like you
can. How is it? Isn’t it a beautiful name that truly suits me? Additionally, I
even got a rose from another world!”

I could hear it, as it reached me without difficulty. (T/N: a name which isn’t
censored)

However, it was a sparkling person that brought his own nickname.

“Yes, and you would be?”

“Me? I am the one who rules over all Elves. Perhaps it’s easier to
understand if I say that I am the head of the High Elves? It could also be
said that my existence could be considered as a forefather to these guys”

He puffed out his chest, and pointed to the five who I thought were high
up.

Everyone present confirmed that his words weren’t lies.

So this sparkly person really is the most significant figure among Elves, and
he is also older than the high-and-mighty five.

But no matter how I look, he looks to be just in his early twenties.

“…… you look rather young”

I somehow manged to utter the words, and Serenade-sama shrugged his
shoulders, as if saying ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’.

“Didn’t you know? The more mana you have, the longer you live! The
Elven race especially have long lifespans! Would looks even matter then?
Am I wrong?”

“…… that’s right”

Indeed, that nature is the type that would do whatever he wants.

It means he could be using magic to maintain his youth, there’s even the
possibility that he’s just using a transformation.

I admire that the things that could be left have remained, and I feel like
there’s no problem to this person’s existence itself.

While I was helping myself in contemplating about various things
regarding a non-standard existence, Serenade-same hovered over my face.

His expression looked like he was really interested.

“That’s why we should be friends. From now on, we would be living at the
same time for a very long while”

“…… now that you mention it, I haven’t really thought about it. That’s a
real possibility”

Even Kawazu-san lived for five hundred years.

If you have an outstandingly large amount of mana, you can live for a very
long time.

Then just how long would I live?

Thinking about it carefully, it’s a story that could make me shudder.

“However, you’re quite interesting. You’re human, but even I can’t see your
limits. Your magic is varied as well”

“Er, well…… I was taught by someone I know”

“Oh, such a person exists? Was it a human?”

“Ah, well, at one point? He’s …… human?”

He’s now an amphibian though.

It’s fine if I don’t really say that.

I didn’t lie.

However, Serenade-sama was thoroughly impressed.

“My, you can no longer underestimae humans. Don’t you think so?”

Unexpectedly, he addressed the last part to the arrogant middle Elf from
earlier.

Naturally, he was unable to react fast enough, and replied after a pause.

“Yeah……”

“What ‘yeah’. I have been watching you guys all this time, you know? How
long has it been since I left our village in your hands? …… I think it’s about
six hundred years or so, now I decided to appear since it’s been a while
and what! Your method of doing things utterly lack beauty! I have always
told you that Elves must be elegant, have I not?”

Serenade-sama was a little angry at this time.

But the man stood up, as if he had a valid reason.

“However, that one is too much of a danger for us!”

“Non non non! Flimsy case! If it’s danger, it’s a matter on how you deal
with it. Anyway, it is an issue of the principles that goes along with your
methods. For now …… this situation demands a punishment”

“Hiii! That’s!”

Serenade-sama passed the final judgement.

The Elves turned blue.

It seems like that punishment is very frightening for the Elves.

I don’t understand it though.

After Serenade-same was done with the verdict, he turned to me with his
usual smile and apologized.

“Oh no, I have shown you something unsightly. I would like to apologize,
but these aren’t words from them. Is there really nothing I can do?”

Although it was spoken lightly, it was a completely effective attack.

I find myself troubled now even though I have heard that same offer
earlier.

I thought that there would be no meaning in giving computers to this race
which seemed to insist on building walls against others, but that doesn’t
seem to be the case. This guy seem to be acquainted with the Queen.

Thus, I decided that it would be fine to give computers. Before that
however, I remembered something that bothered me a little.

“Ah, there may be?”

“Oh? What is it? Anything, I give you my word that I will handle it
properly”

He seems willing to grant anything. It’s a good opportunity so I tried asking
for that.

“Then it’s about the dark elf who took us sightseeing. She seems to have
some problems, so can you please help her? There were those things on
the neck and foot too”

“Nn? A Dark Elf, is it? Hmmm…… ”

Serenade-sama had a playful expression, like he thought something
interesting, and so I added,

“It caused some inconvenience while we were sightseeing, like that one
about the payments”

“Hahaha, I see! Ah! I know. It was the one who was guiding you guys
yesterday, yes.
It would be easy enough to release them, but whether want that……”

Serenade-sama smiled meaningfully, but I didn’t think it would be a
complicated story.

“Why is that?”

When I tried putting on some airs and asked, Serenade-sama had a
genuinely seems to be having fun, then he had a mischievous expression.

“Oh? Are you interested? Then I could tell you, but are you prepared to
hear it? You would be invading other’s privacy after all”

Hm, that’s right. However, I won’t be able to do anything without knowing
the situation.

I nodded.

s i d e Sailor Soldier

We fought a fierce battle inside the Parliament Tower, completely turning
it into a battlefield.

Before I realized it, we entered a room covered in black marble. Naito-san
and I unblinkingly faced each other.

I faced her back in the forest, but I could feel more spirit from her this
time.

“…… would you mind moving away from there? You shouldn’t have any
grudge against Tarou, right?”

When I threw her that question, she faintly trembled.

“……of course. However, it is my duty to carry the Village’s wishes. You
however, is there a reason why you would risk your life for him?”

She returned a question to me, but it didn’t require much thought.

” Of course. Tarou is the only lead I have in order to return home. I can’t
just easily let him come to harm.
Besides, it is enough of a reason to risk your life when your friend is in
danger”

I don’t know how my words will be received.

But Naito-san took a deep breath and firmly held her sword.

It appears that the discussion is over.

“Is that so…… that’s right. Then we have nothing more to talk about”

“You’re right, then I will push through! Field of Swords!!”

“I gladly accept the challenge!!”

With those words, swords reunite with hands.

Naito-san once again covered her face with the helmet’s visor.

On a one-on-one fight, scattered cursed swords are inconvenient.

I set up two swords, and prepared for the battle that’s about to start.

The swords’ powers were Strength and Accelaration.

A considerable amount of time had passed since Tarou was called.

I can’t waste any more time.

I raised my body’s physical output to it’s limit.

s i d e Tarou

“She and the others you see, are children of sinners”

“The Dark Elves?”

I didn’t hide the dissatisfaction in my words.

I already knew that.

Serenade-sama had a slightly difficult face.

“That’s right. Relations with people outside the Elf Village is strictly
forbidden.
Elves are fairies but don’t they resemble the form of humans quite a bit?
That may be the reason that the blood could easily mix with others’. But
Fairies’ characteristics are quite recessive, and when it crosses with other
races, it will disappear within a few generations.
That is why this rule is very important for us Elves to continue our race.
However…… there are times that love burns for the very reason that it
forbidden, they sometimes break the prohibition and beget a child.
The result would be Dark Elves like her.
She chose the way of slavery in order to redeem her mother’s sins.
You cannot build a tomb in a village for a sinner”

“…… haah, I see”

It still unpleasant even though there are proper reasons for it, so the
problem lies on the label.

Serenade-sama continued some more.

“It’s a story of courage. She didn’t do anything wrong herself. Knowing that
she would be treated coldly, and have a standing similar to a slave, she
continues to remain here. The same with the bear, their proposals were
only accepted because of their exceptional talent. Aren’t they strong?”

It’s as Serenade-sama says, the strength of Naito-san and the bear is a cut
above the rest.

I held my head and groaned, wondering what should I do.

I understand the circumstances. Then the pair’s wish could be this way
‘With this, our parents’ sins would be forgiven’.

But they are just in front of me, and I didn’t think that their cooperation
would be that complicated.

“Hmmm, then they just want some sins to be pardoned, right? Won’t it be
solved if you just grant that pardon?”

It may be something that was prohibited, but surely, that was a thing of
the past.

There’s also such a thing as amnesty.

Their mothers should be Elves as well.

In that case, Elves themselves aren’t democratic, if water leaks then this
great people will have to make allowances accordingly.

Serenade-sama nodded normally, as I seem to get it.

“Well that’s correct. However, is it really fine?”

“What is?”

Serenade-sama rebutted meaningfully, he had a mean smile and he neared
my face.

“She and the others are also protected by their current status.
It may be the status of a slave, but they are allowed to stay in this village
precisely because of that reason.
Once they are pardoned, they won’t be any different from ordinary dark
elves.
Then they won’t be welcomed in the village anymore”

“Can’t you do something about that?

I stared into Serenade-sama’s eyes as I said that.

Their greatest wish would certainly being able to live peacefully.

It would normally be inconvenient to to change residence.

Is it really impossible for them to be welcomed as friends within the Elf
Village?

However, he shook his head.

“I wonder about that. Even if I were to allow it, the villagers won’t just
accept it.
I’ve heard that there is a village for dark elves, but I don’t know if they
would accept people who served in Elven Villages”

Serenade-sama sadly turned his face.

I don’t even know what he’s saying, but whatever I want, it’s not like I’m
bound by such a thing.

I’m wondering about suspending their release for such a reason.

“I think it would be enough of an apology for me if you would guaranteed
at least that much, won’t it?”

After speaking out my thoughts, Serenade-sama’s eyes glinted suspiciously,
and it felt as if my reflection in his eyes are warped and distorted.

I was just wondering what he’s thinking about, when he said some
outrageous things.

“Aren’t you quite greedy…… then why don’t you just rule over this Elven
Village?”

“What?”

For a moment, I wasn’t able to comprehent what he said. Serenade-sama
just kept a lazy smile.

“If you wish it, there’s no problem, you see?
Accordingly, you could change things to ensure that dark elves will be
accepted.
In fact…… with powers like yours, you could easily change the world to
your liking.
How about it? If you want the world, we wouldn’t spare any effort to
assist.
That would be a sound investment if you ask me”

This surprised me, and the other listening elves sucked in a breath.

I quickly answered Serenade-sama, who was looking deep into my eyes.

“…… what’s with that troublesome-sounding proposal?”

It’s something that I don’t even need to think about.

However, it didn’t seem to be a mere joke, as Serenade-same maintained
that suspicious smile.

“Is that so?”

“There’s no discussion if it becomes too troublesome …… I think? I never
wanted to enter public service? Moreover, those things don’t matter, it’s
fine as long as those two can live normally.
Can you do it? Can’t you do it?”

Rather than that, this is the problem.

If it cannot be done, then I won’t ask for anything else.

I prepared myself that this would be the end of the conversation, no more
of the useless segways.

After a brief silence, Serenade-sama started to laugh too happily.

“Hahahahaha! You’re quite mean when you know that I can’t refuse! Of
course I can do it! I will follow whatever you want! You guys are fine with
it as well, right?”

With that, the mysterious atmosphere from earlier was immediately
broken.

Although Serenade-sama’s words were phrased to be a question, but it
didn’t leave any room for refusal.

The five high-elves reluctantly nodded, and so the deal was concluded.

“Then it’s all good”

I was also satisfied with the successful transaction, and so my heart
settled.

Well with this, I would also pardon the annoyances that we’ve
encountered yesterday.

However, while I was nodding in satisfaction, Serenade-sama bitterly
smiled towards me.

“Hmm, so this is how you like to use your power. I don’t hate it ……but it
would be better if you think more about the the impact of that power to
your surroundings”

“…… so I’m often told. I myself am thinking about it……”

If I’m reminded about it this often, then it’s probably not enough. It is
incredibly difficult to thoroughly think about it.

Once the discussion was over, Serenade-sama clapped his hands once,
then he grabbed my shoulder.

“Now then, why don’t I show you around the Elf Village after this! You
can’t have seen everything the place has to offer?”

“Let’s see …… that may be true”

What do I do with this attitude, just right after the interrogation?

But I don’t really have a reason to refuse.

“Also about that computer? I’ve heard it from the Queen. It interests me
very much! I would like to hear about it, since we have the time! Plus, you
get interesting benefits when you roam around with me. You see, you’ll
get to buy things at half the price when you’re shopping in this village!
That’s the benefit for being a VIP!”

Ah, I see, half-price.

It’s really different when you’re renow……ned!

“So it’s you!!”

Serenade-same had a strange look when I suddenly blurted that out.

“Hm? What is it, did something intersting happen?”

I saw a terrible oppression on Serenade-sama who wasn’t aware of
anything.

However, just when I was about to look around the village as a proper VIP
and have the majority of the people treat me as such, this person might
unexpectedly be unpopular.

The moment we stepped out of Serenade-sama’s waterfall, a miserable
sight greeted us.

“Wh-what is this?”

“…… this is something that would put our sightseeing on hold, I guess?”

When I first entered it, it’s a place that didn’t even have a scratch on it,
now there’s no surface that doesn’t have at least a scratch.

Cracks ran along the walls and pillars, and it can be said that those
beautiful shadows disappeared without leaving a shadow.

We immediately determined the cause.

It was two beautiful female warriors, locked in a deadly fight right in front
of us.

Sailor Soldier held Naito-san down, and the battle to the death was
nearing it’s finale.

When a sword was aimed at the other’s throat, it seems like it will have a
dangerous conclusion.

“…… haa…… haa. It seems to be my win, I won’t be defeated by a wavering
sword”

“haa…… haa…… then kill me”

“Haa…… no thanks. Since I won, just do as I say, alright?”

How could this be …… can I raise my voice?

In this kind of situation, if I left them on in their conversation, will some
sort of spiritual exchange occur?

But we can’t actually just leave it be.

I gently scolded them in that ghastly atmosphere.

“Heeyy…… I’m sorry to interrupt, but what is this?”

It seems that they finally noticed our presence.

With a jolt, they were clearly surprised.

“Tarou! You’re…… safe”

Sailor Soldier, why is there an enormous dent over there?

“…… how? And are you not ****-sama?!”

Behind me is of course, the great Serenade-sama.

Naito-san ceremoniously turned, forgetting her injuries in her panic.

“Yah-hoo. You look like you did your best~. Our talks just finished, and we
were just about to look around town…… but I would like for him to do
something first”

“Eh? What’s that, I didn’t know this”

I turned my eyes to Serenade-sama at his unexpected mention, he was just
smiling.

“But this is my house. Now it’s in this state~? You can easily fix it, can’t
you?”

“It should be fixed, but why me!?”

Suddenly being told to do so, I would get tired even with magic.

Serenade-sama just said this with a frank face,

“That girl…… is the swordswoman with you right? And she came here
because you worried her, didn’t you? There won’t be a punishment if you
just cleaned up”

“…… that may be so but!”

That kind of talk is unfair, isn’t it?

And you help too!

Serenade-sama dodged what I was about to say, with impeccable timing.

“But if that’s the case…… if you remain here, you might hinder his magic!
Then why don’t you two go back! Return to the inn and change! I’ll also
accompany you!”

“Eh, that is, I came here to help him……”

Sailor Soldier was being led by the the unknown brute elf, but the person
herself wasn’t intending to get involved.

“Hahaha, you don’t have to worry yourself about that! We have talked
about it! He had openheartedly accepted his fault in the matter! Let’s just
treat everything until now as water under the bridge!”

Serenade-same said such a thing.

By the way, would receiving an apology be something like this?

But this forced labor is another story altogether!

“No um! Wait! This is cruel no matter how you look at it!”

I managed to delay the quickly departing Sereade-sama, but he just looked
over his shoulders, grinned, and raised a finger.

“Computer …… don’t you receive a request in exchange for accepting it? I
heard the Dragons’ Chief happily talk about that pond of alcohol”

“…… khu-!”

And so he had opened it.

I can’t deny that.

Looking at the Parliament tower that was reduced to ruins, I became
further dejected.

If you rampage that much, the soldiers would be quite done in……

Cure everyone for now…… how long would it take to repair everything?

“Haa…… let’s do it”

Since I can’t just leave it, I decided to start on healing.

By the way, Life Rescue helped me a lot.

The Elf Village was a truly interesting destination, with a lovely cityscape.
The food was varied, people who like sweets and people who like spicy
foods would respectively be able to fully enjoy their preference.
However, just be careful as it is slightly insular.
You should be cautious before you’re quite familiar with the place.
Go and visit if you can, and try to make Elven friends.
When an Elven friend took us around, we were told that they were
transitioning to be a kind and courteous place.
I bought too many souvenirs because of that, and I may have caused them
an inconvenience.

I sighed as I wrote my travel diary.

“I almost died…… it really had a variety of people”

And I muttered the part where I almost died.

Then I suddenly received an unfamiliar mail, and I opened it with a bad
feeling.

The sender immediately revealed himself.

But the contents of the mail signed -Blue Rose, was a little hard to grasp.

“What [According to your wishes, I arranged everything so that it would be
without a hitch. The rest is up to you, okay?”

The rest is up to you?

What did I ask for again?

I got a strange feeling from the meaningful sentence.

Closing the mail, I tried not to think too deeply into it……

After a few days, I understood why I don’t like this mail.

Because a big furball and a fullplated armor brought their luggage into the
Fairy Village.

“This time, I would be of help to you, I’m called ******. Tarou-sama, I
would like to receive your permission!”

“Gau!”

“Um…… why are you here?”

“No um, we were given some options, so we chose this …… are we a
bother?”

“No, I dind’t say that……”

Staring up anxiously should be cheating.

Honestly, I prefer a smooth-sailing life rather than a turbulent one, but why
is it like this?

Anyway, I confirmed that the places where the curses were, and they were
neither on her neck, nor on Kuma Emon’s foot.

He seems to have kept his promise.

But I clearly remembered that he should’ve let you live in the village
normally, right?

So what happened now, all this talk about serving me and all?

“Yes! We’ve heard the whole story! We decided that we must repay you
for your kindness!”

“Gau!”

Ah, I finally get it.

That bastard put them up on this, didn’t he?

But there’s a problem with Naito-san and Kuma Emon.

They immediately went under someone wing the moment that they were
released.

I think that it would be nice if they enjoy their freedom a little more, but
that seems to be wishful thinking.

“You guys have troublesome personalities, you’ve finally been free after
all”

“…… we’re sorry for that”

However, staying in the village might not be so bad.

If the Queen gives her permission, they would be able to live as they
please.

Then…… will I live with Naito-san under the same roof?

Heyhey, while Sailor Soldier is away to search for clues on returning to the
previous world, this seems to be a Magari’s replacement.

Didn’t she say she’s going to serve? In what way?

Is it cohabitation?

I feel a little giddy.

“Well then…… um, where do you guys intend to live? In my house?”

I waited for their answer enthusiastically.

“No, we’re going to build a house in the forest. It’s a different direction to
seperate things”

“…… of course”

My fleeting dream quickly flew away.

T/N: Turning blue. It’s like a racist suddenly turning into another ethnicity
huh. That punishment is… novel.

Anyway, random thought – if you had the power to change the world for
the better, isn’t it irresponsible not to try? Inaction is a choice.
There’s the question of cultural relativity, and taking away the people’s
freedom to choose for themselves. Ah, god’s (Tarou with 8mil and
Buddhist symbolism of that number) dilemma. Then again, where does he
interfere, and where does he stop?
…would you sacrifice a stress-free life for it.

Lastly, my dark dark thoughts just did a quick review on the concept of capture-bonding hmmm.

Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki – Chapter 46

First not-so-regular chapter of the week~

Chapter 46

“I’ve come today to escort Tarou-dono alone. Will the other guests kindly stay here?”

“Seriously……”

It was Naito-san who picked me up on the next day.

Kawazu-san nodded in assentment to that notice.

“Oh, is that so. Then Tarou, you have to properly say your greetings when you’re alone. I’m
tired from yesterday’s sightseeing. I’ll be relaxing in the room”

“…… terrible, Kawazu-san”

“Then! I’ll also be doing things in the room! Good luck, Taro!”

The dragonfly added while holding what looked like ale with both hands, it’s easy to
understand her intention.

“…… you guys just definitely don’t wanna do the troublesome part, right?”

“”Not true at all, not at all””

“Kuu…… you’re just echoing each other”

It’s looks like there’s no one here who would be with me through hardships.

Even if I’m nervous.

I won’t say that I don’t wanna go because I’m not a child, but I would like to avoid it if
possible.

“Um……”

Sailor Soldier looked like she wanted to say something, but it’s already inevitable.

I cracked a nihilistic smile and waved my hand.

“…… Sailor Soldier should stay with them. It’s a simple affair, it would be over soon”

“…… got it, then I’ll be with the others”

Huh? Could this possibly be breaking the ‘I’ll follow along’-flag?

Silly me.

But this way, I won’t be able to say ‘I’m nervous so come with me’.

I also know some shame.

“Now then, shall we?”

I nodded reluctantly to Naito-san when she finally asked for confirmation.

“…… yes, then please, Naito-san”

“……”

She led me to the famous Parliament Tower, but seeing it from the bottom really
emphasizes how big it is.

At least, there’s no doubt that it has enough impact to instill on the bourgeois like me.

“We’re…… not required to wear things like neckties or the like, right?”

“I’m sorry but I don’t really understand?”

“You’re right! Since it’s just me talking! Yea!”

Damn! I reverted to normal!

Of course you won’t know, since it’s from a different world.

The unrelatable joke made the temperature rise to boiling.

I was quite uneasy that I have to go out alone with Naito-san this time.

The interior of the building was also built elegantly. It gave me the impression of what I
think a medieval temple would be like, and it had a majestic atmosphere that comes
naturally.

The floor, ceiling, and the walls, are polished to the extent that even shadows are
naturally reflected. It’s bright and shiny.

Is it really okay for me to be in weird sneakers, which are not even branded?

I had the impulse to check to soles of my feet, but I resisted to urge.

Even if I stepped on gum, I’ll just needlessly worry on what would happen to all the shine
and gloss.

While being flustered inside, Naito-san suddenly stopped, and so I followed suit.

It was a close call, especially since I can’t see any semblance of it being a room.

Even so, Naito-san stopped on her tracks.

“What’s the matter? Um, is this our destination?”

“No, but I could only go this far”

“Huh? So you won’t guide me until the end?”

So my last hope even said something like that, now I feel the pressure increase.

I’ll be very troubled if I’m left alone in a place like this though!

Another me was screaming in my head, just what will happen?

“Yes, I apologize…… I’m not allowed to enter further from here”

“Ah, I see……”

And so, my small hope was crushed.

I was still going to go alone in the end.

How lonely! The memory of the time before I passed the exam suddenly flashed in my
head.

“I will be guiding you from here, please follow me”

“Alright……”

But my vitality was restored by a little.

What appeared next was an Elf dressed like a civil official, with glasses.

But even with a cold-eyed beauty, talking and being familiar with a woman I’m not
acquainted with when I’m alone is…… something I can’t do! And the civil official Elf-san is
too cool.

Not saying anything from the start and having those cold eyes, it would feel distant and
the level of awkwardness would rise.

Had it been a minute since I’ve followed silently? The place that I’ve been taken to was a
little different from what I’ve been seeing earlier.

“This was please, kindly wait inside. Just go straight ahead”

“Thank you”

Ah, leaving after all.

The elf just suddenly went away after saying that.

Left alone, I observed the strange thing in front of me.

“…… a waterfall? In the room?”

There flowed a waterfall that went into a stream made from black marble.

I looked around but I can’t see where it continues.

How did it get here?

While looking around, I went into the river as instructed, and it turns out that you can
walk on top of it!

There seems to be a subtle film of light, and a platform that only appears where your foot
is.

While admiring it, I proceeded to the waterfall, and the water simply parted like a curtain
without even getting me wet.

“The automatic door of the waterfall was a surprise”

Here, I can’t make fun of the unexpected fantasy-ness of this world.

But after passing through the fantastic automatic door, the place it led to wasn’t very
pleasant.

The circular floor is obstructed by a high wall, and at the top are chairs arranged to
surround.

I was placed below, and there was an unpleasant feeling from chair in the middle I where I
just sat.

“This feels like a trial……”

Just like the word, I remembered a court somewhere.

Before I knew it, there were five figures of people that appeared on the platform, looking
down on me.

Are these people the elders?

Should I say some greetings for the time being?

I lowered my head and made a smile.

“Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Tarou. It’s an honor to be invited”

The one who answered my greeting was a composed middle-aged man, who was at the
center of the five people.

He had a white robe and even among them, he seemed to have a special dignity, very Elf-
like, and he had pointed ears.

“Hm, likewise, we also thank you for the trouble of coming over”

“Well then, I thought it would be over once I’ve given my greetings, but what is the
meaning of this?”

I’m sorry for being abrupt but I’ll have you explain this situation.

No matter how you look at it, the place I’ve entered isn’t designed for interaction between
equals.

I did not come to take an exam, nor am I here for a trial.

I’ll accept yesterday’s encounter as your type of welcome, but I’m getting tired of
situations like I’m being tested.

“Well then, exactly what do you mean?”

The Elven elder ultimately played dumb, and my temple naturally throbbed.

“Aa, how troublesome. I’m talking about this wonderful atmosphere. It looks like you’re
about to start an interrogation. I’m sorry but I don’t have any intention to play along”

I’ve already quit on using terms of respect, and the air over there evidently changed.

It became quite unpleasant, I could say that it was emanating negativity, and I could tell
even though I’m quite dull.

“…… that’s unfortunate. However, it isn’t that we called you here just to test your
competence.
We had to see for ourselves whether or not you’re dangerous”

“Why do I have to do something like that? Well I could somehow understand if you want
to be clear about my abilities. Even the Dragon Elder warned that my powers are
dangerous after all. But if so, I wouldn’t mind showing you, had you asked without using
these roundabout methods”

Everybody else understood my power without me showing my abilities through magic
though?

After saying that, the man’s true nature finally appeared.

“…… then we shan’t hold back. Why don’t we test that power of yours?”

“Mn?”

The man stood up after saying that.

Then the other four followed suit in rising up, as something started to move.

The five people said something that sounded like an incantation, with their hands held as
if in prayer.

I resolved to put my guard up against whatever is about to start, and a suspicious aura
vibrated around me.

“…… what is this?”

At first, it was a faint violet light, but it got darker and denser, and it’s force was
increasing.

The light swirled and wrapped around me, then it transformed into a magical array.

I remained staring at the Elf elders without moving an inch.

Then the man at the middle stared down on me and fearlessly laughed.

Confident of victory, he became talkative.

“It’s an Elven Sealing Barrier, one of the few secret arts that were passed down since
ancient times.
You should feel honored, as you are too dangerous.
Enough that you’re capable to deal a blow to the authority of us Elves.
This is a powerful prison that even a dragon won’t be able to move it’s limbs, it would
offer you a peaceful slumber”

There was a countless number of rings that came from the magical array, surrounding the
area around me.

“…… oh I see”

Troublesome after all.

The light cage continued to increase, until it finally completely covered my surroundings.

T/N: This is the nth time that Tarou talks about his exam PTSD.
